LOL I saw this and I was thinking Roarmac needs to buy this one as a donor car to finish his project.

How much will the top-of-the-line Hammacher-Schlemmer bungee cord bring above the estimate?

https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/classic-cars/a22800074/this-porsche-959-was-wrecked-in-a-freak-trailer-accident/?src=nl&mag=rdt&list=nl_rdt_news&date=082218
For days, the nature of this Porsche's damage has remained a mystery, but today, our colleague Alex Stoklosa over at Car and Driver got the scoop. A Mecum representative told Car and Driver that during transit, the trailer that was hauling the 959 detached from its tow vehicle, careened off the road, and collided with a tree.

Sad story this one is. The good news is that I have a lot of the parts that they need in my "spares" pile that I have acquired over the years. I have some carbon kevlar fenders, the front bumper cover, and a bunch of under trays. Knowing what I know about the cars, this didn't look *too* bad in the grand scheme of things. Still, this probably sold (I think it went up today) for a lot of money...

Sold for 467,500 USD according to Mecum's site. I'm not sure if that includes the buyer's premium or not - I don't think it does, but I can't recall how Mecum posts their numbers on their site.

Wayne, how is your 959 doing? I read some of the old threads from 10 years ago. I'm curious how it's been since then.

In other news, I saw a 962 sold at mecum Monterey for $2 mil yesterday.
Interesting auction. Out of the over 1000 cars on consignment, four of them actually reached the reserve!!!!!! I was looking to see if I could spot Wayne in the audience ... |
