I thought he said 'Running for the exercise, we nailed a goat!' |

Running is hard on your body, my uncle had to switch to swimming for that reason.
Regarding bicycles, if you have wide pelvic/hip bone you need a wide seat. Sit down on a hard surface, place your fingers under your butt and get a good idea of how wide. I am short and wide, at least my bones are and I got the wide seat. I took last week off from exercise which is very unusual, but my chins didn't hurt at all when I ran yesterday. I didn't really run, I sprinted after a soccer ball 10 times across the 100 yard field, taking a breather at the end zones. I used the nearby bleachers to work my upper body and torso. Stood underneath a bench and lifted my legs up to the bench parallel to my body 10 times in 3 sets. Then did another 10 3x's in a chin-up like manner. The routine is very similar to climbing a tree as a kid, but without the bark rash. My motto is exercise like a child, and make it playful. Running is a bore, sorry.

If you want to see reality, watch Burt Reynolds last movie - "The Last Movie Star."
The scenes where he's talking to himself in the Trans-Am, and then in the Canoe are depressing...

We did really well today. The missus came in 257 out of 656 overall, 135 out of 422 for women and 9th out of 42 for women in her age group.
I was 75 out of 656 overall, 51 out of 234 for men and 14 out of 52 for men in my age group. Now, I don't think this is a super serious, competitive race, but I'm ok with that. I know I'm not very fast. I managed it in 57 mins knocking a few mins of of my previous fastest time and three missus knocked about 4 mins of of her best time coming in at 73 mins. Just doing it, improving our time and seeing us in the top half of a group was all motivating. |
