Good customer service thread.
This week, I flew in professional obligation to ORL Fla. We attended a seminar adjacent to a Ritz Carlton inn. The thur. night speaker was a RC employee, speaking to the virtues of the Ritz, and spoke of the company culture.
The next day, during an intermission, I decided to go walk around the hotel. In the first minute, I saw a young couple make a comment to a group of food service employees getting ready to deliver dessert to a marketing event in a closed area... "Those look delicious" The couple remarked. The employees, stopped the procession of well presented desserts, smiled, and remarked "You are right, they are delicious, come on over and have some!" more like "here please have some...let us bring these to you." The employees stopped stopped the cart, and took free samples to the young couple. The couple was amazed. And- so was I. It is one thing to hear about a company culture, but to then see an impromptu performance firsthand, was very impressive. Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 09-22-2018 at 05:26 PM.. |

T-Mobile.
Every time I call their people are cheery, patient, and always helpful. The first couple of times I thought it was an anomaly, nope, it's the real deal. First class all the way.

Chewy.com for pet supplies.
I needed some filter cartridges for fish tanks. I ordered 4 boxes' worth!. I brain farted and ordered the wrong size. When I emailed how I could go about exchanging them for the correct size, Chewy just told me to donate them to someone who could use them, and credited me the money!

Kali bike protective gear. I never registered my gear. Despite that, the sent me a gift card worth the exact money I spent on a helmet. I bought their flagship lid after adding money on top.
Southwest Airlines flight attendants: this past week, they thru a quick birthday party for a first time flying kid. The kid was terrified. The entire plane sang happy birthday am the attendants had a a small cake! The also fashioned a party hat out of pretzel bags and coffee stir sticks. It was impressive.

Not really “customer service,”
The Delta Airlines app is very good.

Just been on a Marella cruise. The service was excellent, best I've ever experienced on 4 different cruise lines . And the essential difference is that Marella pay their workforce properly: no virtual slave labour per the other cruise lines.

I don't really like Starbuck coffee that much but they are handy, I stopped in one the other day to get the small black coffee. As I pulled my wallet out I saw I only had a hundred dollar bill, I pulled it out and the guy said, that's ok, this is on the house.
I thought that was pretty cool. |

Any time I need shop supplies for my prototype lab, I order from Uline. If I order it before noon, I will have a semi truck pulling up to the dock about noon the next day from Wisconsin, to northern Ohio. The driver is very friendly, and helpful, i'm impressed.

I am a Diamond Member at Hilton, have been for years.
I stay at the same place in Newport News twice a week now. The young man who mans the afternoon shift is a real talent; no better face for a franchise. I write him up every two weeks or so on line on the Hilton website - don't want him to get too cocky.

Really? I've heard it's really gone downhill after the retirement of a key employee....

I placed my work iPhone 6S on the trunk of my wife's car while washing my own. She went to her book club meeting and I totally forgot about it. Using Find my iPhone, I found it blocks away lying face down in the middle of the street. Screen still worked, but camera and flash didn't.
![]() Since it was a work phone, it didn't have Apple Care or any kind of warranty, so it was on me to fix. I brought it in to the Apple store and they charged me for a "screen repair" at $149 and gave me a replacement. I was relieved as they could have easily said I would have to buy new one at full price.

I have used Griots Garage products for quite some time.
Good stuff, works well. Their polishers always seemed a little cheesy, though. No offense - but I hear my friends needing to change brushes frequently. I do hear that Griots replaces brushes frequently at no charge. When I decided to buy a polisher - I went with a Torq from Chemical Guys. Nice price, feels solid. Works well. I’m a couple years out of warranty - and the unit goes funky on me (turns out the sensor for speed control failed). After multiple iterations attempting to fix with parts from them, they said to send it in and they will install the new parts. Long story short (sorry), they are sending me a new one. Persistence pays off. Note: I have found that amazon is a better retailer for Chemical Guys products because delivery is faster and usually at no cost shipping. |
