If ya want to save the world, just tell it to play tic-tac-toe.

That's really all you need to know in life.

And he runs ten times faster than me and looks half my age.

I like his movies. But there is still that little problem with his boss's missing wife.

Why go to the movies if you want reality? Just stay home - and experience real physics. It’s cheaper and more realistic.

I enjoy watching for hiccups in continuity in a movie. I see it a lot in scenes where people are eating or drinking.

Exactly.

I'm in IT. The movies where someone is "hacking" something are usually pretty comical. It's a movie, you've gotta not think to hard about it. Action movies are all about bright flashy lights and loud noises.

Seems every week there's something on that show that is un-possible.
Thanks for this post. Hahahaha

So Swordfish probably made you really upset.

Like when Hugh Jackman had to hack into the FBI while getting a hummer and actually did it in 60 seconds.

I really do enjoy some of the Jackie Chan movies and his stunts. Some of the best part is the outtakes he usually shows at the end of the movie. It is supposed to be a light fun movie, and for sure not a documentary.

But Bruce Willis or Tom Cruise just can't go down an ventilation duct, that is always pristine and clean, and not make a LOT of noise.
Kung Fu/Ninja/Martial Arts movies are far from "normal mortal humans". Didn't you ever watch kung fu theater? Ninjas, Kung Fu masters and the like are supposed to be super human with other worldy powers. Watch a demonstration on Shaolin Kung Fu sometime. They can seem super human. They are the comic book heros of China/Asia. We have the X-men and Avengers and China has Kung Fu masters.

I give a movie like the Italian Job a pass because while it is sort of a car movie it is more of a movie about a robbery, being double crossed and getting revenge.

F&F was purely a car movie, I have never seen more than 5 minutes of any one of those movies after that first one.

How about movies where they are shooting guns inside confined areas and no one is deaf afterwards? That really grinds my gears.
Then you'll love this one. I just saw this earlier today. The constant shifting bugs me.

I love, love, love Porsches and couldn't even like "No Man's Land."

I saw either the latest or the one before that. I was shocked, it was excellent, maybe one of the best. Tom Cruise may be a nut (I think most of the best "artists" whether that's a performer or what are) but he's good at what he does. I don't give a damn about his religion or politics, but he's made some really entertaining movies. The Firm, a Few Good Men, Top Gun, Mission Impossible, hell, he was even really entertaining in Tropic Thunder.

Yeah, I really enjoyed that movie too. That particular jump was really pushing the envelope, but the movie and the final chase scene were still good.

hahahahah. Or his super computer with 8 screens arranged in an oval so they looked cool.

Since I'm a network guy, it bugs me when I see a crazy bogus IP address. Also, when hacking involves ping, traceroute or a DOS prompt on the C:\ drive, I have to chuckle.

I am a Land Surveyor.... no one makes movies about land surveying.

The TVR in the movie made me moist......as did Halle Berry.

They have the expert mechanic come in and modify three Mini Coopers to be able to carry 2,700 pounds of gold and still be really fast. Yea, right.

I friend of mine has a F250 that has a realistic ability of hauling 2,700 pounds of gold (in theory) and there is not much that is delicate or small in the vehicle.

And of course they jump the Minis with 2,700 pounds of gold in the back, and can still handle like a sports car through traffic.

It is like the Hollywood writers just don't care about physics. In so many movies a bad guy get shot with a handgun and they go flying backwards. The gun would kick so hard it would be impossible to hold.

And of course the favorite, the generous 100 pound 5 foot tall woman that can kick 290 pound 6 foot 6 man and knock him out with one kick and make him fly backwards.

Ah well, I will still watch the movies and laugh at how silly it is. But just once I want to see the Jackie Chan sized man fight a guy the size of the Rock, and have a realistic outcome. Size really does matter and no amount of training can overcome physics. That is why there are weight limits in all forms of wrestling and fighting or boxing. The heavyweights are at the top of the list and the lighter weights don't have a chance against them.

If it makes you feel better, that was 2700 pounds of gold total between the three cars. AND, it was 2700 pounds of gold to begin with, but the dude had fenced some before the second theft, so it would have been less than that.

Can you make a Mini drive hard with 5 full sized adults crammed in it? Maybe.

See, honesty and reality in movies has been SAVED!!!
