Self-Incriminating Cell Phones

One of my neighbors was Secret Service for years. He went on to be a contract security specialist for celebrities and politicians. Seemed like an all around smart guy. Last week he called another neighbor (with an enclosed trailer) and asked if he can come help him get his stuff out of the front yard and help him find a place to stay for a while.

Apparently, his wife got ahold of his cell phone and found texts from some women he'd been bangin...Ooops, I mean having a love affair with. Just another person busted by their cell phone. Come on, if you're stupid enough to cheat on your wife, you don't give the girlfriend your cell phone number.

This stuff is happening more and more. Not just cheating spouses. Perpetrators are caught daily by the phones location function.

I like my life uncomplicated. My wife and I have the same phone password. I doubt she'd check it because she trusts me, but if I ever changed it she'd be pretty dammed suspicious.

Don't cheat and you won't get caught.

Cheat and you deserve to get caught.

Reminds me of that recent cellphone meme with the hundred dollar bill inside with a note to the repair tech "Convince my wife the phone is broken and no way to retrieve history. The money is yours to keep".

I have nothing to be nervous about, never even searched porn (on my phone). I guess i'm pretty straight laced, and just can't understand those who cheat and lie.....

Same here. Plus being a simpleton with limited memory I recycle the same few passwords for everything anyway, so she'd just figure out my new password in about 30 seconds.

I'm not looking to cheat but doesn't seem like for a SS guy he was very sharp.
Cheap cell phone and separate email for girlfriend... not rocket science.
Fortunately I use my powers for good and not evil.

I don't know about the guy in the OP, but I know a guy that was telling everyone that he was going to be protecting "#41". The guy seems like a tool and not that smart, but then I don't know him that well. Maybe he's a smart tool instead of just a tool.

Lots of people get complacent. Burner phone or there's also probably some sort of password protected, encrypted chat/SMS app out there if that's your thing.

The only thing that would make my wife more suspicious than changing my password would be her finding a second "undisclosed" cell phone.

BTW...I'm NOT sympathetic to the guy. You play with fire and you deserve to get burned.

I'm not sure that's legal to throw your spouse's wares out the door w/o notice. Maybe she saw an attorney and got the go ahead but in CA she is liable for any loss due to her behavior. In order to actually remove him from living there, she needs a restraining order. Try for that after you've thrown out the clothes, etc. You will look for like the villain.

But for the phone, she's not in the best position. And texts are not proof. Evidence, yes. I'm not supporting the guy here, but come on.

My (soon to be ex) wife and I always knew each oher’s phone and iPad passwords. Though we rarely used each other’s phones it was something we didn’t think twice about. One day I went to do a quick Google search on my wife’s iPad sitting next to me. Hmm, that’s funny, password has been changed...

Found out later she was cheating on me.

It’s not just what’s on the phone itself. I pulled up the cell phone account and looked at locations calls originated. I could tell dates and times my ex was off screwing her boyfriend at is house but what cell towers her phone pinged off. Can’t lie through that.

Funny though now. I’m now in the cell engineering business making twice what I was when married and she’s stuck with her retail coworker boyfriend who doesn’t even acknowledge their relationship.

Jeeez. What world do you live in? Hell hath no furry as a woman scorned. I don't know many women who would call their attorney to get eviction rights worked out before throwing the scoundrel out.

I'm sorry those two of you who caught your wive's cheating. I guess I can call myself lucky, or maybe I'm just naive and blind.

Just curious, how old are you two. Think there's an age when married women/men start to stop cheating?
I'm 58. I kinda assume most of the cheating slows down by the early 50's.

If I wanted to have an affair, I would ask my wife's permission.

In Costa Rica a BEAUTIFUL young professional girl came up to my wife and I outside a restaurant and asked..."Are you two looking for some fun tonight, $200". I looked at my wife and asked if I should offer her $180. She wasn't onboard with the idea

My wife’s thumbprint will open my cell phone. And she knows the code. As I do for hers. Not to snoop, but in case of emergency. I can’t think of any reason I would want to cheat. I certainly appreciate the pretty young women in the world, but none are worth hurting my wife. None of em.

Didn't the guy in Breakin Bad get ousted just because she discovered he had a 2nd cell phone?
