She would rather take a bike off road and he would rather take a Jeep. I have the big brother of that bike and had an old Ramcharger that I used to bang around off road in. Took the daughter in a nicely setup CJ-7 out in the CA desert.
I actually sold the Ramcharger and old Coronet convertible for the Cobra. Neither child likes the old Challengers and 'cudas. I am not sure they are really mine some days. ![]() I agree there is a lot of different aspects of "car culture". I will say this for them. We were at a car show in Monticello and there was a yellow Challenger there and the sign said it was Curious Yellow. She looks at it and says "That isn't Curious Yellow". To me it looked more pure yellow like Lemon Twist than the more chartreuse Curios Yellow as well. I think I have a picture, all y'all can verify for me.

Does that bring back some memories. We had a '83 Coupe GT exactly like that except for the wheels. Wife and I still consider that the best car we have owned. Put over 150K miles on it with no issues at all. 5 banger with 5 speed, not particularly powerful but just a fun car to drive and the build quality way better than anything US made at that time.

I was at SEMA last week. Car culture, in all its varied forms, seems alive and kicking.

A future car nut.
A little boy, about four years old was walking past the 911 with his mom. He stopped dead and pointed to the SC and said to his mom in a loud voice "Racing car!" Not entirely correct, but thanks I'll take the compliment. |
