they're also not big inside. Rode some trails in a new taco, and one of those 4dr jeeps. Very cramped.
The full size trucks are spacious.
I posted a few months ago about my experiences with a brand new 2018 Tacoma 4x4 SR5 crew cab rental over a week in Seattle. As someone who loves Toyota trucks, I was hugely disappointed. It drove big but was small inside, rode rough, had terrible directional stability on the highway, was gutless and loud, and felt really cheap. My only real compliment was that it was easy to park. Getting back into my 2013 F150 Ecoboost 4x4 Supercrew was a revelation. Considering how much the Tacos sell for, yeah they aren't worth it.

I like the 957 GTS! If not that, what about an X5M? The only thing is you need to own an oil refinery.

Can't believe I'm going to say this, what about a used Honda Ridgeline? They can tow 5K (I think), are AWD and are Honda reliable.

I bought mine a couple of months ago with around 46K miles on it for mid $20's. They are out there if you look.

I appreciate all the suggestions but I probably need to state again, I'm a bit of a HP junky. These suggestions for vehicles with 6 cylinders won't move the needle for me. I just sold a awesome FJC I had all dolled up because it wouldn't get out of it's own way.

I also need to tow at least 6500# as a travel trailer is in the future as well.

Again, I appreciate everybody taking the time to weigh in.

How old are you willing to go?
A 10-15 year old truck does not need 300hp, since they were lighter.

Gotcha, I did misunderstand. I thought you were saying you wanted a competent SUV or P/U that you could take into the woods and the HP's weren't enough based on the size of the vehicles you were looking at and the Pick up's were to large as in the size of the vehicle. FYI- the Frontier is capable of towing 6500# however it is not a 300+ HP vehicle. HP is 261 from the 6cyl V6.

Good luck in your search.

Jeep Trackhawk, or Cherokee SRT....more power than you'll ever need, but not cheap.
