THis has got to me one of the worst I've seen. Understand 4 total were injured but everyone conscious. Terrifying crash.

Must have been brake failure at the end of a long straight. The speed differential is stunning, especially in mid pack.
Would like to see footage from earlier in that section of the track. Quite the testament to the driver safety built into modern race cars. Hope all recover quickly from their injuries. Cheers Richard |

insane. Wonder if a halo would have reduced the injuries, still incredible that she’s alive.

The events at this track, including the sports cars, seems to have some horrendous accidents

Macau is a very hard track to master, no room for errors
This footage it's clearer, shows how lucky everyone was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHZWJkcBz8U

Too early for a “women drivers” joke?

For me it is never "too soon" to say something, either say it or don't say it.
If it isn't right to say right after, why does a day make it suddenly ok? I do find the side pod sponsorship to be ironic. |

I do hope she recovers fully. I also question the logic of having a 17 year old driving that car.

Cap'n's post...look from :12 to :30....there is an orange vest person who LOOKS like was clocked by a pole and sent backwards...THEN the GD car lands on him/her...THAT'S the person I think who we should be concerned with...

The reason drivers are allowed to compete is because they can show that they can and qualify within a percentage of the pole. The way the accident was provisionally determined to happen was a errant yellow light that all drivers could not see. You might say the same about the driver in front that braked. Jack, you know this about drivers, why would you say that? Nevermind, I don't want to know, really. |

I really think maturity comes into play. A more experienced, older driver may have done things differently. Just a thought as I do not know what really happened. I just think 17 is too young for a lot of things.
