What's sad are the homes and lives lost. As for the burnt wild areas with no structures, not sad at all. Much of California has evolved to survive and even depend on wildfires. I've watched burnt areas recover and it happens surprisingly quickly. The ecological diversity that arises during the recovery is amazing. The attached article is an interesting read.

Some guy posted a video he took this past weekend from the overlook over The Snake. He walked in from Kanan. Everything torched from his view of the area. Amazing the Rock Store made it.

It is amazing that the Rock Store survived. Houses and stables on all three sides are burnt to the ground. The RS parking lot has several tables for donating items all piled high.

The bridge downhill that takes you over to the The Old Place is melted like a tipped over candle. Most of that area is still closed unless you can prove you live there.

Besides the cost, is a burnt out car like the Ghia salvageable?
