Hey Scott! We use the Privacy Badger and have been very happy with it. Hope all is well in your world.

Loaded uBlock today as well. So far so good. Big difference.especially on you tube videos.
No more ads on music videos. For one day its up to 550+ ads disabled.

Having to approve everything is sort of the whole point of the exercise - not allowing unknown scripts to be run on your machine. I like to do a quick "who is 'whatever.com'" so see what the company sending the script is trying to do.

noScript is, at least initially, very labor intensive. For some websites, you definitely have to enable a bunch of stuff to get everything that you want to see to display. For some websites (very few), I just never get them to work even if I enable everything.

I have not recommended noScript to folks like my wife or mother for just that reason, but I continue to use it for myself.

You could leave uBlock on at least. Try Ghostery also. They have human reviewed whitelists so it is less work.

Either way, uBlock will make a difference.

Just use AdBlockPlus and UBlock.
You install it once, and never think about it again.
I have never had to manually intervene ever.
Not sure why it's blocking images that are not ads

Wow, I'm shocked to learn that Chrome has >60% of the share of the browser market and IE/Edge and Firefox are 2nd and 3rd at 10-15% each.

Most android devices come with Chrome as the pre-installed default browser so not surprised. I suggest Firefox for Android with Ghostery and NoScript. White-list sites as you need them.

With NoScript it can be a pain. But all you have to do is whitelist your favorite website or allow everthing to load temporarily. You just click on the S. Notice how many ad trackers there are on some webpages and everything is linked to Google. Scary...

I still use Chrome on my Phones 7 tablets. But I had so many issues with my desktop, I switched to Edge. Works fine.

I can categorically say, that changing from a 3rd gen i7 to an 8th gen i7 has helped a lot!

New laptop!

The new version was a bit confusing at first, but understandable.

Here are the controls:
