An absolute "Chicken Little" TABS is......I prepare for the bad, but look forward to the good, and enjoy the present.

Question - when is Armageddon taking place.

I am so very sorry that you do not get it..

It seems that I have left you so far behind that you can not even see my dust trail on the horizon anymore...

So, I should be all in on gold bullion buried in my backyard? Or do you have other suggeatiojs for capital preservation.

Has it been gotten under control since he said it years ago...does it look like it will be gotten under control...and then the equation has changed since then...you notice Ryan went home while the getting was good. Part of his decision was based on his feeling that there was nothing that he could do to change the trajectory. Perhaps he felt the US had reached the point of no return...

You all have been inured to believe that Secular Materialism can go on forever in an ever ascending spiral. Continuing to believe that in the face of environmental deterioration and an out of control ascending debt spiral is the manifestation of your madness. You do not believe it can all can end.

It is still an "if" situation.

Armageddon will cause stocks, bonds, cash, and real estate to be worthless. Gold will skyrocket but you can't eat gold.

Hams. Buy and horde cannned hams. Add in a few guns and ammo as seasoning.

sugarwood 11-29-2018 02:25 PM

tabs, please disclose exactly how your assets are allocated.
Please state percentages like a pie chart.

eg:
S&P 500 fund = 20%
Bond ETF = 15%
Home Equity = 50%
Cash = 10%
Bitcoin = 5%

Or are you another pointless internet windbag ?

Your opinions are worth less than poo without disclosure of your skin.
Windbag with no positions must back up his empty talk

Markets going UP!
Markets going down!
Ahhhh, SHET UP!!!

You dont want to get it do you..you persist with your fantasy.

the word "if" implies having a CHOICE...fix it or else. So far it AINT BIN FIXED, with NO FIX IN SIGHT...and the hole has been dug even deeper...that means that the equation has changed, it is no longer the same situation.

Any fix is NOW GOING TO HAVE TO BE EVEN MORE DRACONIAN...perhaps to the point that the fix will be as harsh as letting it all fall apart.

Fact is RYAN went home...he fell short and he gave up trying to fix it...he must of come to the conclusion that in spite of his best efforts it was not going to get fixed. That it was unfixable on two counts. One that there is no political will and two that the hole is so deep that you will never be able to climb out of it...

Having NO POLITICAL will means that the powers that be still think that it is business as usual and that the party will NEVER END...which is the mentality that I have just articulated as being madness. At the point of no return the damage is so great that it becomes pointless in trying to fix it...just let er ride....you can not stop the sinking no matter what you do.

I am no doomsday preper myself. However, you don't need a crystal ball to know that in general "our" current lifestyle is not long term sustainable.

Environmentally, thermodynamically, financially, and philosophically we are living in times of extreme excess which cant go on forever. I don't pretend to know how or when things go in the future however.

I do not think 50 years from now it will be normal for a family to have: 3 4500 lb cars, burn hundreds or thousands of gallons of fuel in a year, live in a 3000 sqft HVAC house, eat thrice wrapped fast food with disposable utensils, goods so cheap and disposable that I could buy a couple TVs or microwaves on a whim to use for target practice........etc

Just rambling a bit I guess.........and well off topic. I'm sticking with the slow and consistent investing in the market until somebody gives me a compelling better plan.

IMO we should be more worried about the population in 50 years, and less about what we consume.
Our standard of living is definitely sustainable, unless we breed ourselves back into the stone age.

If your neighbor hordes hams and you horde guns, guess who starves and who eats?

In a 100 years there will be science journals written about his prowess.

You sarcastic naysayers! Tabs has it figured out! I'm going to liquidate, buy a cabin deep in the woods (Well, considering the fires, maybe deep in the desert), a couple assault rifles, 10,000 rounds of .223, some small game snares, 25 years worth of dehydrated food, and dig a well.

My neighbor is dumb as a post. He thought a wild hen turkey was "...some kind of weird vulture..."

LMAO! So true.

My brother-in-law and sister are Mormons. Mormons all have a couple years of food and water stored up for the apocalypse or whatever . He was lecturing me about not having my "Stores" and not converting to LDS, and that I won't be prepared to survive until Jesus gets back. I asked him how many guns he had and how much ammo he had stored (I already knew the answer). He replied, "I can't have guns around with the grandkids always over. I said, "Well then, I guess you're storing it for me, thank you".

sammyg2 11-29-2018 03:22 PM

That's awful nice of him.

Since we are using hockey pucks for self defense I could see where a well placed Hornell canned ham could cause some serious damage.

I said, some time ago, that a tax cut for corporations when the Market has been going gangbusters for several years is the ABSOLUTE MOST ASININE TIME. Here is a chart showing the Dow Jones closing. The sharp upward portion of this graph was the OBAMA ADMINISTRATION. tTUMP has blown his wad and now has no viable tools to use if/when the market softens.

When armageddon comes you'll find me cruising the streets of Vegas in some Dragon-azz jeans and a pair of used Romano Marteganis looking for the best brunch buffet that operates on barter system. Everything else is just chaff.
