Diphenhydramine and Dementia
I have never been troubled by allergies much, so don't take a lot of benadryl. I know a lot of people do, and diphenhydramine is in a lot of stuff, as ubiquitous as acetaminophen.

The equivalent of three years? As in 1095 doses?

That's not dementia...that's the rip in the space/time continuum caused by the advanced civilization in an alternate dimension, using a wormhole to mine our known universe for 10mm's to replace theirs.
We need to get smarter. Screw the benedryl and electric cars, we need more 10mm's. And bourbon. What were talking about again?

I’m convinced that heaven is nothing but 10 mm sockets.

Actually Matt, in Heaven nothing needs a 10mm socket. In Hell, everything requires a 10mm socket...
The real question is, if I stop taking Benedryl, will I remember where my 10mm is?

I know I am weird, and more than a few people have told me so, but.....
I don't think I have ever lost a socket, as in it is gone, ever. I still have the entire set of sockets I bought for my first car back in 1970, with the exception of the 14mm, and I broke it and had to replace it. With that said, all of my tools have the ability to transport themselves, and they all have invisibility cloaks. I spend hours of any project looking for my tools. They end up in places that no normal person would have ever laid them down. I should NOT have to look INSIDE the refrigerator for my tools. The only tool that I can be sure does not transport itself is the air compressor and the impact wrench if I leave it attached to the air hose. The invisibility cloak all my tools have is the most annoying. I can look for them in the logical place, and not find them, spend 10 minutes looking and then find it just where I first looked. How a solid metal object can go temporarily invisible is amazing.

Reading the linked article I thought that the fact that 800 out of the 3,500 study participants developed dementia was a staggeringly high percentage. Doesn’t that seem abnormally high?

It is an old age disease. A hundred years ago ithe numbers are not ao bad because everyone died prior to reaching the critical age of Alz. In 1968 the avg life expectancy (M/F) was 66.6 and 74. In 2018 76 and 81 The avg age might increase by nearly 10 years but many won't know it because of their zombie state.. |

Attention, if you used Benedryl for allergy relief listen carefully.
Studies have shown the Benedryl use can cause early onset of Alzhiemers disease whem compared to other allergy treatments. This product may cause severe health problems including short and long term memory loss, confusion, and inability to recognize close friends, and a long list other health issues. If you show any of these million and one symptoms you may be eligible for compensation. Call Smith, Jones, Blaylock, Rodriguez, John, and Sons for a free consultation. That's 1-800-- Cantremember |

He said "your mom is 82 because of medical interventions and advances in care that saved her from a heart attack she had in 2016 and with the drugs keeping her body going that were not available 30 years ago" Drugs and various interventions keep people alive that would have died a more natural death previously. I question the value. Is their quality of life really better? I don't know, for some yes, increasingly for my Mom, no.

He had a pacemaker from a quad bypass in the early 2000's. Along with rhe medication he just couldn't go. Little sis just couldn't let him go. She was Daddy's Little Girl. Finally she realized she couldn't let it go on any longer. Doctors took him off all medication orher than those that kept him comfortable. He passed within a month. |

My dad had Alz. After 4-5 years of getting progressively worse, he passed away two years ago at 88.
I told my wife, I will not live like that. Back to the Benadryl, I’m going to cut back on it. I’ve been taking too much for allergies and as a sleep aid for too long. |

Don't take Benadryl. Take the other stuff that does not make me sleepy.
My first Golden was a very smart fantastic dog. But she had allergic reactions at times to what the vet said were flea bites. Her skin would swell and get all wrinkly like a Sharpei. Would give her a Benadryl shot, then pills for a few days then she was okay. She got white faced living to 17-1/2 but never noticed any mental deficiencies she was still a very smart dog. Mom got breast cancer they successfully removed. Put her on a medication they said stopped the cancer from returning in 80% of patients. Problem was the #1 side effect was stroke and post stroke dimentia. When we found out we asked the doctor and he said you either have a stroke or have the cancer come back. She said she would rather have cancer than lose her mind. It was sad because she had already taken enough that it was a long ride watching her brain fade away. They should have told us BEFORE the first stroke.
