Doing laundry. Dumped a load onto bed to fold. Went to wash next load.

Came back and my cat burrowed into the warm pile and proceeded to vomit over the entire thing.

Now? I’m at a coin-op laundry washing the down comforter and blanket. My home machine isn’t big enough.

I’ll be lying if I didn’t quietly wonder if I had any subsonic .22 anymore.

No more. This is last cat. Forever. Somebody come and punch me in the stomach if I waver.

I've been waiting for mine to die.

He's vicious towards the children and visitors. At best, he ignores us. He's torn up the bottom stair step, despite having a scratching post right next to it. I have to pay someone to feed him when we're gone.

Oh, and at least once a week I find either dried vomit or dried cat poop on the carpet.

I guess we have been lucky since we have been in our house ('81) we have had at least one cat and at present we have a brother and sister. They poop outside and each a rat/mouse/gopher/bird at least twice a week each! They do bring the dead critters upstairs now and then and the other morning the bigger of the two laid on the floor at the foot of the bed and devour a gopher 100%, tail, feet, bones and all! The little bastards are burrowing around our front and when they did a new line they pop their heads up? Bang, he was caught! I hope you do not have a mouse/rat problem as they are better than any trap.


Our Maine Coon got into a fight with a racoon and I was surprised he came out on top, just killed it, no eating it?

My family got a cat when I was married and my oldest was 6 years old. Fluffy was not social cat - She could care less about anyone in the family. My son wanted the cat. I got divorced, my son moved in with his mom and the cat was mine. My oldest is now 30 and Fluffy died 3 years ago - she was 23 years old. I was sad when she died but I don't miss her.

Cats are great! If you don't get a male fixed they'll walk around your house pissing all over it. One my wife and kids have taken in climbs up on the car and pisses on the cowl where the air intake is for the ventilation system. And there's nothing like the smell of a fresh dump in the litter box when I walk down the basement in the morning. I can't think of a better way to start a day!

Vash you need a dog to add to the madness. Like a black lab that will eat anything(including its own frozen poop). Cat pukes and dog eats the puke or anything else that has an edible texture. I don't miss pets or anybody else's that poops on the grass.

I have two rescue cats(both female) that live in my garage. They are mass murderers. As long as the rodents don’t re appear they can stay. I am not a cat person.

My daughter saved an Asian short hair cat that just won't die. It will not let you sit down without being in your face, and usually starts retching about our meal time.......I've already DECLARED that no more cats will be allowed in the house. If I leave laundry anywhere other than in a drawer, he will find it, and pee on it....never again.

Was thinking about getting a nice kitty for my disabled daughter. This thread has cured me of that. I guess 2 trustworthy dogs that live in the garage is gonna be it for us.

Someone gave us a cat because there husband was allergic. It was the perfect cat. You would have thought he was somehow professionally trained. My kids loved it and he loved them. Two years later, the woman asked for the cat back because she had gotten divorced. My wife felt pressured since it was a co worker so I said the cat stays, blame it on me. 14 years later, the cat passed away and a couple months later, we saw our first mouse in the basement. I miss that cat.

Guess I'm lucky. I have a cat. He's a fantastic companion.

His negatives: Like all cats, he throws up about every other day. Fortunately it is often on a hard floor surface (though once in awhile it's on our bed, where he likes to sleep--yuck). He springs forth from the litter box, thereby spreading litter in a 2 foot radius from the container. Why can't they just step out of the thing? He also likes scratching our fabric couches. I'm not buying any more nice fabric furniture; leather, wood, or steel from now on.

But he's the sweetest guy otherwise. Maybe because he acts like a dog. Very friendly. Never bites or scratches. He's great with the kids. Even when they give him too much love, he just gets up and walks away. Ever since his brother stayed out one night and got eaten by a coyote, we've kept him inside. But before that, he would always come home when we called for him. When we walked the dog (or played with the kids on the sidewalk or in the yard) he and his brother would tag along. His brother would even dart back and forth, under our dog's belly. When I would come home from work, he and his brother would miraculously appear from whatever neighbor's bush they had been hiding under/behind, greet me in the driveway/on the sidewalk as I got out of my car, and then proceed to follow me into the house. He sleeps at my feet every night. I will definitely miss him when he's gone.
