We like to believe that bad calls and non-calls balance out over the course of a game, and sometimes they actually do In this game however, they most assuredly did not. _ |

This is now being touted as the most flagrant non call in the history of the NFL!! That's a pretty bold statement, but that's what all the commentators/ media outlets are saying now. And yes, this DID cause the Saints to not make it in.. I'm still stunned and in disbelief that it wasn't called.
Looking at it again, it's mind boggling that it wasn't called. I'm glad I'm not a Saints fan.

these guys play at a high enough level where when they want to hurt someone they will... They do. NFL politics! |
Didn't watch. Don't care. But I did see this in the news:

Should have never admitted fault for not calling pass int
It's seems like it would be pretty difficult not to admit fault when literally millions of people saw it live, and on tape from a buncha different angles about a hundred thousand million hundred times.
What's the line on Goodell calling a do-over? 100-1 against? 10,000 - 1?
I guess if Breez didn't throw the INT after this non call all would be good. They had their chances after the call, one play doesn't decide a game.
But Breez would not have had to throw the ball at all had the call been made.
Why don't we just have each team run just one play each and then speculate about the outcome of the game? The fact is this was a majorly bad call. No doubt at all about it. Whether it cost the team the game is anybody's guess. It was a bad call that should be remedied. Now if an indisputable and seriously bad call at a crucial time in a championship game is a calamity then there is a clear remedy that is in the rules. |

Guess what , each team had many times to win the game, one play doesn't make the game. The coaches from both teams have reviewed the film and saw multiple times they could have made a better play. Don't put yourself in a position that the call can make or break the game, coaching 101. been there, done that. Its easy for fans to pinpoint one play and say we were screwed!
Rams outplayed the Saints in second half, not saying this as a homer since I like both teams and Drew in particular, but you have to finish no matter what.
Coached FB for 14 years, nope one play doesn't. Put yourself in a position to win no matter what.
