Fred, what a horrible situation. I hope things get warmed up enough for you to be able to get things fixed. Good luck !!!

fastfredracing 02-01-2019 11:19 AM

Its not that horrible, just a bunch of extra bs thrown in the mix . Im all good again, my shop did not freeze at all last night, and I got a nice hot shower at home about an hour after that post .
Im at work now, putting a water pump on a BMW. The temp is starting to climb a little bit . I think we are out of the woods for now.
I have one more trouble spot in the one of the houses, that I am waiting to get a call on, but so far, so good .

I have never, ever just once run off to the store for anything plumbing. Three trips minimum if you include opening the box at home to find out what’s in it isn’t what’s supposed to be in it.

Last time I replaced a stool I was surprised. I only had to get a longer flex line.

-27* on Wednesday, supposed to be 41* and rain on Saturday.

Had to clear the drive again on Tuesday night, but it was only down to -1* at that time. Still was sweating running the snow blower for two hours.

Our garage was down to 35* because the space heater in there had shut off. It had been keeping it at 47*. Oddly, the original aluminum sliding windows from 1972 do better in the cold than the new windows put in in the addition 1982. (Before our time, we bought in 2007)

0*F Wednesday, 70* today. Welcome to the midwest.

We hit 50º yesterday.

cabmandone 02-04-2019 03:44 AM

Arctic blast... what arctic blast? I was out on Sunday taking seats out of tree stands and was sweating because it was 50 and I had a hoodie and a zip up on. Told my friend when I got home that I was thinking of taking the cover off the pool.

-26 C here this morning. Same as -14 F.
Not a vortex but an outflow.
We have been lucky so far this winter but didn't dodge the bullet completely.

ckelly78z 02-04-2019 07:54 AM

Wed/Thurs. mornings were -15 with a windchill in the -35 range. Sunday afternoon 57 degrees, and no coat. The house was too warm while watching the Superbowl at 76 degrees inside with the woodstove smoldering.

recycled sixtie 02-05-2019 06:42 AM

Well it is minus 34 C or minus 30 F this morning. The high today is supposed to be minus 25 C or minus 10 F. Coldest stretch of days since last winter. Probably go walk around West Edmonton Mall for 45 mins. Too uncomfortable outside.

The swimming is still good in Lake Superior!

5º here today. I'll take that over -22º any time.

The hits keep coming on this one . Spent my day at the rental house with the broken pipes yesterday.
Had a new meter installed. I repaired at least 15 breaks in pipes, that I could see. Turned the water on, and we have water falls everywhere.
Before I left yesterday, I had the ceiling removed from the kitchen, the floor removed from one closet, and found leaks under the bathroom floor ( not sure how to address that one yet ).
Called this am to get a final on the water bill. $3183.65. Ouch!!

North Scottsdale today just at Troon around 2500 ft. If its doing this in AZ, can't wait to see what it does in the east

fastfredracing 02-22-2019 07:56 AM

I finally got my water back on. Still have one bathroom with at least 10 breaks. I just installed shut off valves so I could get the rest of the house back online .
I am hoping to finish up this weekend.
Replacing the bathroom ceiling, and gutting the upstairs bathroom. Lots of soggy drywall .

svandamme 02-22-2019 07:57 AM

I already got my k75S bike out, sat in the sun the other day in tshirt having a beer.
I love this global warming crap

Holy cow! Does insurance cover that?

fintstone 02-22-2019 08:15 AM

Most utilities will give you a one-time break on the water bill if you ask/let them know it was a water line break.
