I haven't lived in FL. for about 9 years now but I attended many 12 Hours of Sebring events ........... you will be hard pressed to find a hotel/motel that isn't already sold out . This is a HUGE event for the town and attendance generally is very large numbers , sometimes just finding infield parking can take an hour of circling/searching . Maybe some locals will chime in with a secret spot . Good luck in your search . If you have never been to the Sebring race it is a bucket list event . If the weather is warm the infield " sights " can be very pleasing to the adult male

Actually, I just book my hotel for the nights I need. Thanks anyway. I have room reservation in hand, um in email, and a confirmation number. I am set.

Right at the track. It is a place overlooking the track. Reasonable room rate for three night stay.
Way cheaper than the Parade hotel in Boca Raton.

The Chateu Elan ? I think that's what it is called . If that's the place you might have a balcony view of the hair pin .

Anybody know if spectators can get in for test sessions? Toyota, Ford and some others are testing starting tomorrow.

You should be able to get into the track. I have often watched the Indy Cars test. The track really can't be locked out completely.

I have been to the last six or seven 12 hours of Sebring. The guy who hosts has a 3rd floor room in the hotel every year. I stay in my best friend's motor coach at the exit of turn 16 but am in and out of the hotel room all weekend. The entire race is aired on the hotel TV's.
***when you check in, get specific instructions from the desk on entering and departing from the track through the gate adjacent the hotel. The first couple of years I went, I did not have a "HOT" ticket and I had to be very careful to get a "card" from the security guard manning the gate. If you have to go all of the way around, it will be a major inconvenience. Bribe the guard with water or soda every trip out. They will remember you and from then on you won't even have to slow down. *** I would highly recommend renting a golf cart. Each room has a balcony that will fit 3 comfortably and 6 or 7 guys if you cram in. (like at the start and the finish). See photo below of the balconies. Check out the breakfast sandwich called "The Beast". It is wonderful. Trust Me. The Beast is sold at a stand adjacent to the start/finish, NOT in the hotel. This thread inspired me to go to Sebring again this year. We tent camped two years ago and we were all miserable (it stormed, anybody want to buy a tent used just once?). Wife said she'd go if we
Got a room. We have stayed at the Chateu and it is nice. I thought there might be some availability since Glen got a reservation. Nope, completely sold out, as is everything within 30 miles. Might do a day trip but that's kind of a pain. Oh well maybe next year. Dave |

We get the same room every year because the host is OCD and has decided that this room has the best view of the track. I am very thankful that I stay in a 45' motorcoach and not the hotel. The coach isn't a Prevost but it is very very nice. DL |
