So, $110K plus to spend on a car

A new 911 or a very well done restomod? After watching this, it would be a tough choice for me...Well, not really.

If it helps... You'd lose less money on the Mustang!

Yep. I have seen some nightmarish restomods out there...but this one was done extremely well.

Pantera.... well sorta you will have a cool unique car that will go up in value

F355, arguably the last of the mechanically connect Ferraris.

A skyline R32 AND a Mazda Fd3s, AND an AE86, all well sorted... JDM dreams...

Porsche 930 well sorted and nasty.

Porsche 911 long nose or backdate with a 3.6/3.8 NA build.

Shelby Cobra Kit or Daytona kit...

RCR Type-D kit

Would be my shopping list if I was a rich dude.

I'm in the middle of a restomod 75 911s turned early turbo body with normally aspirated 3.8L (from 92 964 3.6) with everything upgraded including bare metal paint restoration. It is going to end up costing more than a brand new 911.

To me its worth it, but I wouldn't blame someone for choosing to just avoid all the hassles associated with this level restoration and just bite the bullet and get a new car that will perform superbly and have all the conveniences and safety of a brand new car. The restomod option is not for everyone. But if you want a car that has the oldschool look and feel with the performance of a 'new-ish' motor.......either dish out the huge $$$ for a Singer Porsche or figure out how to do it or consign it yourself.

My 69 would eat that 67 alive...I am pushing to remind you a 428 SCJ, 3 spd auto, full comp suspension and 4 wheel disks...

The heads alone took 60 hours of polishing and porting Ford Power Parts Roller Rockers on a B&B motor .Hooker Headers with 3 inch pipes to the rear...Studded bottom end, 60 lb Rod bolts and the list of stuff on that motor goes on...and believe me I have WAY less than 110K in it...

If that is not bad enough I have a Ford 427 Dual Quad, Crossed Bolted Main Center Oiler...just sittin there on the gaaarage floor ready to drop in..

Tabby, err..so what? The new 911 would also probably be faster. That's not what this restomod was about. The 5.0 is over 400 ponies, easy...so what you say may not be so. Not that it matters.

I know there are some who believe old muscle drove on roads paved in gold...but I made a recent post you must have missed...are you aware that my '09 Bullitt Mustang, a mere 315 horsepower, has acceleration times almost identical to a '67 427 'Vette? Higher top end, more G's on a skidpad, stops shorter, and much better fuel economy? And it's considered old, slow, and obsolete by current Mustang standards.

For $110k? C'mon. Imo, that mustang is a $45k car on it's very, very best day. Likely less than that.

I know this is all day dreaming pie in the sky but if I had 100 large burning a hole in my pocket I would pick one of these:

Race Car Replicas

Watched the video, love the paint and cool upgrades... it is all subjective. I get the idea of wanting the cool old style with a modern drive train, just for me it is not $100K cool but I'm sure the owner does and loves it.

Sure. I chimed in here as '67 coupe owner. Would love to restomod it (full coilovers and all aluminum SBF) but now also have a C6 Z06 that's been to Lingenfelter. Am into that car for way less than I'd be to do the mustang the way I would want...and the Z06 would still run circles around it with the A/C set on full blast.

That chick selling a Keurig had a resto mod at $100K? She looked so young.

I’d be very curious how good those restomod muscle cars really are. When I had my 1970 Mustang I did a lot of research on suspension, brakes, steering, etc options. Even the guys who had invested $25k in a coilover suspension, chassis bracing, 4-link rear end, rack and pinion steering, big modern 6 piston brakes.....they still said that the car drove like crap compared to any modern sports car. For a $20k fun driver Mustang I can deal with some classic “character”. For $120k it had better drive like a modern Z06.

A C6 Z06 is a beast of a car... but at the end of the day you're still the guy driving a C6.... I have neither the gold chains, nor the tribal tatoos for that.

Now a well sorted old Mustang with a nasty 500HP Yote would be a cool fun car for street cruises and some stop light fun.

I dropped $4K into my Miata, it was better but not $4K better. I would have been better off buying a $8K Miata to start with (Purchased for $4K)

For 110k I could be completely debt free including mortgage, driving my paid off Nissan Versa. Which means I could then afford to start restoring my 356.

No ink or chains so I should get to work on a skullet!

I can't argue with the stereotype but omg is the thing scary. I've managed to take a couple of my kids for rides so far...my 9 yo son's reactions were off the charts. I overheard him talking to a friend on his xbox afterwards..."Dude, when my dad starts his car, it sounds like a lion roaring!"

Have posted this before but here's another guy that went all in on his early Mustang. yote motor--pffft!

I'm a big Mustang fan, and currently DD a 04 GT. While the 67 is way cool, and I could dream about owning it, I wouldn't pay $110K for it even if I had that money to spend. I think for half that money a new GT350 is a more desirable car to me.
