has anyone ever tried any other Worchestershire sauce besides L&P?

in my decades of life. Lea and Perrins dominated my worchestershire sauce needs. total domination. i dont think i have ever tasted another brand!

you? anything that is better?

i ask that, not knowing if L&P is even good..it is all i know! weird. it could be crap stuff

I buy the Aldi stuff because it's half the price yet tastes the exact same to me. I mean, I only use a teaspoon in a recipe at any given time but I don't notice any difference.

I tried the Heinz version because the grocery store was out of the real stuff. Once. I literally used it once and tossed the bottle. Never again. I'll go without rather than use something other than Lea and Perrins.

Google the old 'Evangeline' brand. I think the company that bought them out is still making a W sauce.

or else, there's this:

Nope, it is like Kikkoman's or Tabasco sauce. I know the taste, and see no reason to try anther.

i'd probably never change up. just wondering if i had started with another product, would that one be "the one".

and kikkoman. i find it too salty and one dimensional.

There are some things that are sacred.
Lea & Perrin's = woosterchestershire sauce
McIlhenney Co. = tobasco sauce

There are some things you shouldn't mess with.

Really? Tabasco is sold world wide, and almost everywhere. In my youth I used to use a lot of it. Then I got old, and heartburn was not worth the taste of Tabasco on foods. I still use it sparingly on many dishes, but I buy the standard little bottle not the big bottle like before.

I prefer Tabasco too...but you have to ask for it by name. TP (made in Winston-Salem) is what ya get if you ask for hot sauce or is already on the table next to the ketchup. If you put it on BBQ....I will shoot you

There is a Worchestershire sauce that is not Lea & Perrin's?

I guess I knew that, but will never act on that knowledge.

My wife once bought a bottle of French's Worchestershire. It was probably cheaper. Tastes like it.

Nope. They may be very good, but I don't care. Only Lea and Perrins.

I have tried a couple others and they were so inferior I ended up throwing the entire container away.

I'll never stray from L&P again!

Just bought a new bottle yesterday, in fact. Good on avocado!

We grabbed a bottle of generic because the L&P was out of stock... not sure how much difference there is, seeing as we go through a bottle in about two years I see no reason not to pay a few cents more for the real thing.

Now hot sauce we have at least 5-6 bottles at any given time.

I love shopping at Asian supermarkets, they have half an aisle dedicated to soy sauce. Same if you go to a Latino market and shop for hot sauce.

Frank's Red Hot has the same vinegar base but isn't quite as hot a Tabasco.
