It was a solid movie. I didn't see any overt feminist agenda, unless you count women flying planes and doing stuff as a feminist agenda. The sub plot of her story was much like the sub plot in Molly's Game, IE, you have to get up when you fall down, because winners never quit.
A couple of laughs and a few plot twists, you can see it as leading up to the final Avenger movie. My wife is actually friends with the first lady fighter pilot in the US, and she is pretty much the determined go getter that you might expect. I didn't think Brie Larson could carry the role, but she had no problem filling the part of a determined go getter. I'm not surprised if she is outspoken in real life, but then, I could care less, she was right for the part. She had a good chemistry with Samuel Jackson, and it was a good part for him, where he doesn't have to play the perpetual cursing MF. You can tell he likes her. She is more attractive than I thought. There is no overt defining of her sexual orientation, so I'm sure you can interpret that as you please. She's great with the banter, and manages to be snarky and amusing at the same time. There is plenty of banter, and none of it is particularly offensive. But then I like the Marvel Universe, and most of the characters seem like people I would want to hang with.
I enjoyed the movie, and it was a strong addition to the series. You have to watch the credits to the very end, for the last parting shot. I'm glad I saw it in the theater.
