FWIW....a while back I set about to check and replace all lights on my '02 Silverado.

Elected not to go to LED - except for my backup lights.

Those vehicles on the road with LED lights are annoying to me - so I just refuse to be a party to that.

Backup lights....100% different and a real benefit to have more illumination!

Nice job on the bench repaint, those going into one of your garden redesigns?
I have outfitted our vehicles with all LED’s, they are great. Had to replace the aged third brake light in the 95 K1500. Brake light and bed light combo that seems to work well, although it hard to tell being all dirty n all. I found it pretty much mandatory to use dielectric grease with the LEDs. LED headlight elements too, however I made it a point to align and redirect them as not to blind oncoming drivers. They have been a lifesaver in the dark drive home.

Guess all of the trucks heavy lifting these past month caused the airbag to pop its top, either that it was overextended when the truck had a transmission service last week and the rear axle was allowed to fully extend while under pressure….[emoji848][emoji2955]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a932588f81.jpg

Son and I are learning how to rebuild/clean a carb on a generator. Got it cleaned, etc. but something wrong I think with the float 'cause it tries to run but just floods the engine badly

Installed an in line thermostat for my oil cooler. After getting it installed, I don’t like where it is, so I’ll move it to the top of the fan marked with the blue square.

I had to replace the pump for the Koi pond this morning. The old one was working, but we bought it at a local big box store, and it has never pumped the volume it was supposed to. So it went to the storage shed as a backup, and this went in. It was a super easy swap, just unscrew the fitting from the old hose and screw it on this one. No adapters, no trips to the hardware store, just off and on. Only because the really good looking humble and modest genius that put in the last pump made used a genius design and it all fit. It was almost like cheating.

The old pump just made the water trickle over the waterfall. Now it is a waterfall!

This is from a few years ago, and the plants have changed due to the master gardener effect, but the same pond. This pump was the right flow, unlike the last pump.

I sandblasted and painted my old Blackhawk jackstands this week. I'm not sure how old they are. I've had them for 50 years and they were old when I got them. They had several layers of paint and bondo on them and I figured it was about time to stop neglecting them. I sandblasted them down and checked for cracks - no problems anywhere. A couple of coats of Kubota Orange and they look like new (although I think they were originally red).

A red plastic hummingbird feeder dripped onto the deck and emptied itself.
Relocated it over bushes which might like sugar water and is now in the shade.
Cleaned it thoroughly with hot water and clean paper towel cycles.

The two sides of the clam shell design at the bottom had a 6" M-F edge which didn't seal.
(maybe it had a O-ring at some point that is missing? whatever.
I'm not driving to the store for that.)

I used nylon string as a rope-seal gasket...and for some reason that actually worked..

Delighted to have a bird resident again sitting on the wire in back watching. Small things.

Fixed a toilet... the landlord was too cheap to have a plumber do it...Man I thought I was done with construction crap, man do I dislike it with the intensity reserved for politicians....:mad:

Had the welder out today, to complete a repair prior to recover.

Starting installing a 4” spindle lift to replace the 3” level on the F150. The main reason why, was because the upper control arms would hit the springs at full droop with the level.

The left side is done, but I need to double and triple check all of the torque specs. Tomorrow, I will start on the right side.

went to patch some dry rot on south porch rails in prep for paint. Rot was way worse than I’d thought, the bottom rail was half gone and the verticals and trim were dust with paint holding them together. Ended up rebuilding it, only the top rail was still good. couple floorboards also had to be replaced.

A bit of trim at the bottom of columns to replace tomorrow and the dry rot will be done. Surprisingly little dry rot on this house. Thank goodness.

I love my Makita 18v finish nailer. I’m terrible with a hammer, though I did manage to drop it on my foot.

Some time ago I restored a centercap on a wheel cover for my Brother-in-laws 72 Lincoln Town Car. Long story short, he lost one on a trip, I found one on ebay for him but it was from a Grand Marquise. I took a center cap from one that he had from a parts car and restored it and swapped it with the Grand Marquise center cap. So, he said that wheel cover looked so good that the other three looked bad and asked if I would restore them as well. So, yep, I did. I even made little dust caps for the back of the wheel cover so the back of the center cap would be protected. He asked what he owed me, I was like nothing. I just enjoy helping out, I think they turned out nice. They are three piece wheel covers held together with nine hex head screws. There are 72 spokes/fins in the middle piece which is diecast metal and heavy, (the covers are 6.6 pounds). I took a rotary tool with a little polishing head and polished in between each spoke/fin. The insides of the spoke/fins are painted black so I was careful to just polish off any built up dirt residue revealing the black paint. It was indeed a labor of love. Lol.
