My bathroom is all one color. A shade of white. Did I mess up?

We can only dream about getting enough rain to fill that barrel down here the OC.

porsche930dude 09-02-2022 05:04 AM

I was surprised how much water comes out the gutter when it rains. I filled up our little fish pond when the rain came. 5 gallon buckets filled up as quick as i could carry them over. It was raining pretty hard but only a 12x24 roof.

I'd fall off the roof. lol

This is what I have used in the past with excellent results, Paul.....

LIQUIDFIX

LiquidFix Door, Lock, & Hinge is an all-in-one product that was specifically formulated to clean, lubricate, and protect metal to metal friction points such as door hinges, locks, deadbolts, sliding glass door tracks, and more. The product was designed to penetrate quickly and easily into the working elements of a door hinge to instantly stop squeaking and squealing and prevent future rust and corrosion. With both a 4 oz. Bottle with a standard dropper top, and a 0.5 oz. Needle Oiler, you'll have any and all repairs covered. The 4 oz. Bottle is great for use on larger surfaces such as sliding glass door tracks, garage door rollers & tracks, large gate hinges, car doors, and many other large scale household applications. The 0.5 oz. Needle Oiler is designed for precision applications where one or two drops is all you need. This is great for mitigating messes in the house and reducing the amount of waste. Ideal applications for the 0.5 oz. Needle Oiler include door hinges & door locks, combination or key locks, handheld tools, or any other small, precise, household applications. LiquidFix Door, Lock, & Hinge lasts longer and stays in place better and will keep your doors opening and closing smoother, more quietly and better without the downsides of messy dry lubricants thin spray-on products for weeks and months to come.

Thats some good thinkin!
Im working on the door for my fc-150 the whole hinge panel needed to be new and the skin. So Since i rebuilt the cab its all out of shape anyway im fitting the door to it. Its going better than i anticipated. All the mechanisms work fine. Iv almost got the hinge panel done then iv got to loosen up all the window frame bolts because taking that off is the only way to get glass in it. Ill probably just put lexan in it for now. Im going to add braces inside so it stays where i want it because its very floppy and im not so sure the skin will get it as solid as i would like.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1662246353.JPG

Was mowing weeds in an old field using the drum mower when one of the shoes under the drums lost the bolt which secures it to the spindle. Loaded the shoe into the bucket of the tractor to get it back to the shop. The clamp which secures the shoe to the spindle was deformed, so heat and a hammer were required. I finished off the reshaping with a file and got it back onto the spindle.
The old mower was cheap enough so I could have it rebuilt for less than the cost of a new one, but every now and then it will teach me something.

At least it didn't break down during haying season. ;)

Best
Les

She doesn’t remember the last time the oil was changed. Cat was rusted out and most of the exhaust came out there. Leaking tranny line and steering line dropping fluid. Only 1 front brake worked. Hood won’t close. Door trims falling off. 10 year old mis matched tires. Probably original plugs and belt.
Of course I had to clean it first. Engine was gross, but interior was worse. She probably won’t like I cleaned it. Take out napkins for ten years stuffed everywhere. All kinds of crap stuffed in every hole. Who needs 20 chapstick!
All good though. I’m happy to help.

That looks really good.
I know in the West that retaining water on one's property is somewhat of a sticking point but here in Michigan we get charged more in water services for 'imperviable surfaces' which drain into city pipes. So we punished for not having rain barrels and pond gardens.

gregpark 09-04-2022 09:57 AM

I set this barrel up not to capture rain but to recapture irrigation water from my roof gardens during the non rainy summertime. The barrel is full after a weeks time and the water gets re purposed

Thank you for the detailed reply, Rod.

Wow......that's a lot of neglect! I'm sure there are worse cases out there though. I bet Fred could tell us stories. You know - more than he has already...lol...

Good luck -! SmileWavy

Great idea and I get it. I'm considering some kind of re-capture system for my orchids. As you know the potting media for orchids is very open - so any kind of liquid feeding drops right through. I hate to see so much of it wasted. So I will try to figure something out. The orchids are very healthy because I feed them at least twice a month - plus the summertime weather really pushes everything.

Onward......;)

gregpark 09-04-2022 02:54 PM

The reclaimed water from your Orchids will be nutrient rich. I'll bet any plantings around the house would enjoy it or, stash it in a bucket and use it on the Orchids again later maybe

I worked on the E46 today. Connected the oil pressure sending unit, painted the rear seat shelf flat black to reduce glare in the window, removed the panel between the trunk and the cabin, install the M3 baffle in the fuel tank.

This took far longer than I should admit.
The wife bought a Cricut. Hasn't used it in at least a year.
How hard could it be, right? An hour and a half later, one decal.

How much does it cost to just have these printed?
I've got a bunch more to do.

Do you really need the wings?

That's a lot of power on a light craft.

Enjoy.

Check out the Lockwood aviation videos on YouTube... it's a serious performer. The designer performs single engine take offs at pretty impressive climb rate. The initial requirement was for safe long range engine out performance.

GH85Carrera 09-12-2022 07:42 AM

My wife decided we need to "deep clean" the house. Pull the furniture and appliances out and clean behind and under them. Take all the stuff off of shelves, dust each piece, and clean the shelves. The ceiling fans have to have the light fixtures removed, and cleaned.

I "get" to help. One real challenge came when in the living room with the 12 foot ceilings. The light fixture has a ceramic ring, and it screws down onto the light bulb fixture, on the outside of the bulb fixture.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1662995920.jpg

Of course, first remove the bulb, then just unscrew the ring. Yea, right. The ring and the bulb fixture are both ceramic. They kinda grab each other, and much like unscrewing a light bulb that has been in place for years, it grinds and has friction and it is a challenge to get my fingertips on the ring to get it off. Even harder is threading it back on straight, while holding the glass decorative light fixture in place as I try to screw the ring back on. I did get some silicone "bulb grease" for the threads to help make it easier. Two went back on with no major problems. The last one grabbed and was like it was superglued in place. I could not get it to release, to get a it going back on right.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1662995920.jpg

Out to the garage it make a Glen special tool P-901-911-01 tool. I dug in my plumbing supplies and found a 1 & 1/4 inch slip fix connector, and it was pretty close. I had to cut the slots for the raised parts with my Dremel, and then sand down the inside of the fitting, with the a sanding wheel on the Dremel. Just sand it, and test fit until the rig fit nice and tight into the tool.

I figured that would make getting the crooked ring off easy. Nope. I had to get a 12 inch piece of PVC to make the handle longer, and hold the back of the bulb, and push hard, and remove it. I would never have been able to remove it, and then thread it back on straight. My special tool makes it pretty straight forward.

Now just 4 more ceiling fans to take apart and put back together. Golly it is fun!

Saturday, I'll do a spark plug change on my 2017 F250. I did not know it was 2 plugs per cylinder!

Removed the passenger side air bag in the 330. Popped the cover, removed four nuts and done. 10 minutes.

Thanks, Mike. I always enjoy seeing what others are doing to try and keep their tools organized.

I recently bought a Ryobi cordless leaf blower, and while reading through the reviews saw a photo posted of what I thought was a very handy way to store the drills, impact wrenches, etc......

Odds and ends at Mom's house while she's away including repairs to two sprinkler heads whose nozzles were damaged and needed replacing.

With this handy Rainbird plier tool, it's very simple. Run irrigation and clamp tool onto sprinkler neck while extended. Turn off irrigation. Replace nozzle. Turn irrigation back on and adjust as needed.
