Nice color combination! And quilted for comfort and style. Is that leather or vinyl?

I’ve got some kind of pop when I turn the steering wheel to the right on my 2014 F150. I checked the front end and could not find anything loose. The other day I took everything out of the pick up bed and the ball hitch as well. Still had the noise.
Today, I took out the rear airbags and took it for a quick spin … Pop pop pop! 🤬 I pulled back in the driveway and broke out the grease gun for all of the ball joints, and sway bar end links. I’ll see what happens tomorrow morning when I leave. I don’t want something breaking catastrophically when I’m doing 60 miles an hour |

What a dummy. 🤪
After checking ball joints, springs, drive shaft, removing the airbags, etc, I greased eight zirk fittings late yesterday and when I drove it today, it was quiet as a mouse. |

I guess I'm a fool. I have had a 4' length of 20" sonotube kicking around for a few years and the other week, my granddaughter asked if I could make her a chair with it. Sure, Dear. You can paint it to match your desk. So what you see is one of two. They have a plug glued into the bottom for strength and the pieces fit into the upper part will form the support for the glued panel pine seat (which will not be painted), once the scrap functioning as a spreader is removed. Hey! I'm retired, what else am I gonna do? Best Les |

Picked up this jd saber this morning from my frneighbor that does excavation work. His customer wanted it gone it was covered in hay and goat poo. I spent all day fixing the flat tires and getting the steering unstuck. Actually its in pretty good shape. Its getting no power so tomorrow i wil be going through the wiring. Already cleaned up the carb so it should be running soon. Even has the hood thats not smashed. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729124433.JPG

This is at my late parents' house, which my brothers and I are getting ready to sell. So Milton comes along and blows off some of the vinyl siding on one side.
I gathered up all the siding pieces.....luckily they were all there, although laying in a couple different yards. Hired a contractor out of Port Orange and they came today and got everything re-attached. It wasn't easy trying to reassemble all those pieces so they'd all go back in the way it was. We didn't want to have to do any painting. Whew....great job, guys! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729215979.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729215979.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729215979.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729215979.JPG |
Built an Adam Savage (of Mythbusters fame) tool cart yesterday. The design is based upon his "first-order of retrievability" theory. I think I have been operating under 4th or 5th order - now which tool box, drawer, or cabinet is that tool I need located :( So I've condensed 4 tool boxes and a cabinet into this. I love it. Everything in one place, visible, and retrievable.
I used one sheet of plywood, 4 caster wheels and some scrap wood pieces I had laying around. $45, all in. Adam Savage Tool Cart http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729251490.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729251539.jpg |

Hahahahahahaha, I try [emoji16] Attempting to repair/replace hot n cold valves in out American Standard Hampton bath fixtures. Can not for the life of me get the base separated from the decorative bell. [emoji2959] Soaked for several days in “Mouse Milk”, yes, it a real thing. Used a bit in the aviation community for loosening rusty exhaust bolts. Vinegar in hot water, swearing at it, channel locks….. the works. Still locked on tighter than a Knomes wallet. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...afc46f5591.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Built and installed a mailbox.
Buried in the ground 18 inches and secured with Sakrete. That ****er was heavy. I’ll prep and paint it Charleston Green in a couple of days. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729564343.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729564343.jpg |

Nice weldin' on that white-metal. I wish I could stick two pieces of steel together with a bead that didn't look like pigeon droppings.
(And I'm in agreement with the customer; "D" windows are classic.) |

What started out just installing winter tires quickly turned into replacing the brake pads on all 4 wheels. I had to deal with one seized guide pin on the rr caliper. |
I need longer extension cords so I can route the street numbers in the mailbox. Also, I need to caulk the horizontal 6 x 6 to the vertical 6 x 6 and give it a second coat.
I’m not a real wood type person, but this is turning out pretty good…. For me! 😂 http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729649256.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729649256.jpg |

My good friend has 2 cubs, the one I'm paining now has been the one he's had forever, so he's restoring it. The red and white one he'll be selling after his resto is done but I used it to rub out scheme templates.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729959206.jpg

Replaced the original tired fuel pump on the 914 with an updated Dansk. Had to work with a few couplings and different hose sizes.....and then the hose in the photo - of course the hardest one to get to - had to be cut back a couple inches to get to usable rubber. The first attempt worked great except for the fuel squirting out in a couple places. So I went back and re-did what was leaking and then success. Engine starts right up while standing outside the car reaching in to the ignition switch. That'll make my battery very happy! :) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729961077.JPG |
Phew, I just finished replacing the other hydraulic cylinder on my scissor lift.
There are two on the MD6XP scissor lift. The left side started leaking out of the weep hole on the top side. I just ordered a new one from Bendpac and it was something $440.00 I swapped it a month ago. Then I put my 911 on the lift to do the 30,000 mile valve adjustment and another oil change. While it was going up one time, the other cylinder started leaking. After the valve job was done and the 911 was driving, I took the leaking cylinder to a nearby repair facility. They had some monster size cylinders and some hydraulic powered pole chain saws on the table to be picked up. They took it all apart, inspected it, and put in all new seals $331.08 and gave it a paint job. So replaced the right cylinder today. Hopefully I am good for another 11 years, which is how old the lift is. I will get the other cylinder on hand and have it rebuilt if I get another leaky cylinder. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1729965285.jpg It sure is handy to have even for non car work. |

Latest handyman project. New deck rail and under deck screen.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730211687.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730211687.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730211687.jpg |
The deck felt a 'little bouncy'. The back sliding-door frame seemed to warp during the winter(harder to shut), a small corner crack appeared next to it as if the wall was being pulled outward, plus the gate fence seemed to shift sometimes.
-There were originally three 4x4 posts at the outside, next to my beefy stairs added. -A single one in the center. -The deck boards next to the house rested on pieces of 2x4s attached with a few nails into the cantilevered rim joist of the house. Here are the 4x4 posts which were holding up the entire deck... USE A LONG THIN SCREWDRIVER AND CHECK WOOD POSTS FOR ROT BELOW GROUND Once had a party with 7 adults on it. Aladdin's magic floating deck. Why did it not collapse? http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730391392.jpg Instead of 4x4 I chose twelve 6x6 posts (beveled to shed water). Each sits on a bag of #2 paver base pounded with a 4x4 until the windows rattled. Doubled-up all the joists and screwed together. Hangers for all ends, and bridged every other one with 2x4s attached with beefy Spax structural wood screws. Replaced a cantilever with good overlap bolted together with heavy duty corner angle. Everything got two coats of CopperCoat preservative before installation. Top of joists got joist tape so no water sitting. The deck should now be 'fully floating' and doesn't pull on the house structure. Hopefully it will last a long time. One thing for sawing easier was spraying the blade with WD-40. No pinching or burning and much cleaner cuts. Try it, seriously. Nearly took off a knee cap a couple times using the post hole digger machine. There wasn't room for the other type which is stationary with an arm. Be careful with those things. I reverted to the manual post hole digger. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730391402.jpg Select your deck wood carefully in the daytime (unlike what I did after several trips to return junk because half of it was). The ring circles must face down to prevent cupping later on. I also should have stained both sides before installing but it was still wet. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730391442.jpg Yes Viginia, you can haul 2x10x14 in a 6ft bed. Just drive 40mph on a Sunday morning. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730391457.jpg Menards had Cabots and ReadySeal stains available. No Sikkens or other. Thomsons is usless. -I'd tried a ton of Cabots very generously before, to the point of peeling, but wood underneath still rotted. Not happy about that. On the inside of the front porch it still looks good. -The ReadySeal feels like it might have a wax additive, which may be a problem in the future with additional application. It has a nice soft feel when walking barefoot. No smell and it applied well. IDK. First time using it. -I waited a few weeks until the surface was dry. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730391547.jpg I got my side frames installed. They were taking up half the garage. Made of laser-cut plastic panels stuck inside a frame. Cut slots all the way around and embedded in caulk for more strength. The pins are removable to take apart. There was barely enough room and had to trim an inch off the sides to get them to fit. They were supposed to be half that size and just an accent screen but I guess I ordered the wrong ones. I used the wrong deck screws at first. Most have been replaced with the larger bevel head type. It's tedious. Have to shim and finish up the perimeter lattice but it's mostly done. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1730391525.jpg |
