That's the crazy part...he's not just winning, he is winning INSANE amounts for Jeopardy, night after night.
|
I'm getting really tired of this guy. Someone's going to knock that goofy smile off his face.

Until then, the man continues to demonstrate something more than simply a prodigious memory, spectacular speed, and supreme strategery. He deliberately set his mind to conquering a highly respected and extremely difficult game and make millions in the process. I don’t think he’s at all interested in breaking that other guy’s record(s), either. He’s in it for the money and will take as much as the show will give him. He’s no more goofy than the thousands of other contestants over the years and the many, possibly millions, who’ve watched Jeopardy! over the last 55 years or so. |
Close one today. Came down to final jeopardy. Prolly break $2m tomorrow.
|
Nate only bet $10,000 in final Jep. BET IT ALL!!!

Nate was impressive.
I think James was sandbagging a couple times, though. Many of the clues Nate answered were easy-peasy and it appeared to me that James would jump in to run up the score at will then lie down and take a nap for awhile. |
Laura was a paper weight

I didn't do the math. I assume James bet enough to beat Nate if he bet it all?

So Nate's low bet didn't matter. Too bad that Nate was on the show during James's reign. He could have had a good run.
|
No competition today. At one point in the second round both competitors were in the red. I thought he was going into final jeopardy alone. May as well have.
|
Always nice going into final jeopardy knowing you can bet $33k, miss it and still have enough to win even if the other person doubles their total.
Pretty insane he is beating the old single day record practically every night now. Also, saw that not including tonight he had answered 912 correct and miss only 28, for a 97% correct ratio |
James is like what Tiger did to golf.
Upped it, somehow. So we soon should be seeing some of the chemo in Alex. I’m noticing how he expresses his reverence for James’ skill and achievement. Think of it. Alex is the essence of decades and decades of Jeopardy! and even he thinks James is unstoppable. James’ average daily winnings is greater than the previous record daily winning that stood for, like, 20 years. |
James said today he had never realized that Jeopardy contestant could be a viable career. That was funny. Nate has been his best opponent . i think he can be beat but it could be a while.

I must say the kind of person who commits an entire year to understanding the buzzer system on Jeopardy! is not the kind of person to show up at my family reunion.
Constructing a skill-set as James has done for himself is fascinating to me. Ken Jennings was a phenom. James is a force. Thursday when Nate was in the lead and surging, I thought, uh oh and was saddened. Then James kicked in. He’s got so much confidence in his recall and in his strategy he has become predictable. Like Green Bay in the sixties. 4 yards and a cloud of dust over and over again. Sometimes I have no idea at all what the clue is clueing me into. None. It would help if I could keep track of the categories, which is also impossible. |
You'd kick his butt CB.....gimme sammiches fer 2K Alex :)
Seriously....when his epic run ends....so should Alex....and the whole show....I mean that. It has been a hoot.... |
