$130k today. Not his best day though.

Has there ever been a Final with only one contestant playing? As mentioned it was close to happening last week.

Ya, couple times. You can see videos on youtube. It's funny because they dont even let the players with less than $0 stay on the stage for final jeopardy.

Saw Final Jeopardy today. Wow, it is so demoralizing, why even try or wager when you know there is no chance to win.

Had to search. I had no idea there was a consolation prize. $2k for 2nd, $1k for 3rd.

I'm getting bored....if he doesn't shoot for $200k soon ;)

I am seriously watching each Jeopardy like it's my very last one....

Thank you Alex & Jim :)!

Methinks ths buzzers are "rigged" (just like high volume stock "traders" to get a few milli-seconds advantage). This is NOT some bs theory that I "read" on the Internet....fwiw ;)

Now I gotta go do some nuthin'...

Assuming he can answer all of the questions, I wonder what the maximum daily winnings are? Of course, to hit the maximum, he'd have to hit the Daily Doubles at the end of each round and bet everything every time.

I don't see anyone coming along to beat this guy any time soon. In the end, he will probably decide that his pile of money is big enough to live the rest of his life off of OR he will get a job offer that interests him. I don't see him involuntarily leaving.

.....

That's an easy one....Jim would just tell ya what the actual number is though :)

I saw a blurb where James said he was looking for a job analyzing sports statistics, before he realized being a contestant on jeopardy was a viable career.

biosurfer1 05-28-2019 07:53 AM

He can and will lose, and the other night proved it when he almost lost in final jeopardy. It will just take the right question at the right time and he will miss it.

Just like Ken Jennings, who lost on what I think is a fairly easy final jeopardy question: "Most of this firm's 70,000 seasonal white-collar employees work only four months a year."

He made a comment on the show about wanting to be hired into analytics. I'm not sure if it ws a hockey or baseball reference.

He will have a job by the end of this week.

A few lines of code...or a phone calculator....to lazy to do it in me head....

352,800 .... or 242 :)

Trust me....you do NOT want me to show how I derived at that...probably like no one else here would ;)

ckissick 05-28-2019 12:43 PM

The most you can win is $566,400.

If you answer all the regular Jeopardy questions you win $18k. If you got the DD on the last $200 question you could get to $35,600.

You could another $35,200 in DJ, giving you $70,800. Double that on the last two questions gets you to $283,200 before final Jeopardy.

You could double again in FJ.

I think it's $566,400 in the end.

sammyg2 05-28-2019 05:19 PM

Let's see .. carry the two, nought nought ... I say it's around $566,400. ;)
It's a lot easier to get the right answer iffn you wait a while.
