What YouTube has taught me about driving in Russia

1) Nobody knows how to drive
2) Everyone has a death wish
3) Everyone has a camera in their car

The Chinese ones are worse, but the ones I've seen are NSFL

Here's the main reason for all the dash cams...

Fast-forward to the 3:00 for a bit of hilarity!

I wonder how long before the helmet-wearing window-lickers state-side start pulling this crap.

Those of you who have never been there and experienced it first hand... well its a real experience. I thought Africa was bad but Russia is even worse...

We were in Moscow once, sitting in a taxi stuck in a traffic jam. Cars all around us, pointed in every direction. Taxi driver is laying on the horn nonstop, like that's going to do anything. So, he gets frustrated and decides to point the taxi in a different direction. Well, that's not going to happen, since we are surrounded by cars all within 6" of us. Hey, no problem. Taxi driver starts stabbing the gas pedal, while yanking the parking brake up and down. He turns the thing on its center axis, just like you do with a small airplane. I never would have believed it was possible!

We had a street type person who lived near the hospital and when he was too drunk or lazy to walk home he would lay down on the street. A Good Samaritan with a cell phone would call 911 and a ambulance would take him to the hospital. Police & Fire also involved. When they got to the ER he would get up off the streacher and go home. This worked well for him untill one dark moonless night when a guy driving a 5 ton truck didn't see him till it was too late.

1.34 mark, first video. It's not Russia but Sweden. I know the exact spot where it happened and when it happened. So they seem to have "enhanced" the videos somewhat. Very hard to watch, nevertheless.

It all depends on where you drive. I often go to Moscow and I have not seen anything like that there. Everybody also says that they have problems getting a visa. I did not have this either. I usually refer to them https://durchrussland.de/russland-visum/ . Therefore, check everything yourself and do not pull out of context.
