Close, was actively looking, but decided not to move the kids until they finished high school. We were surrounded at the time by azholes. Guy on the right would put up no trespassing signs on Halloween, and call cops if the kids hit a ball into their yard. Left tried to stop me from doing drainage work on my own property, and township easement, calling in township engineer (which told him he couldn't stop me)

And the guy across the street, after 15 years of parking dumpsters and garbage trucks on his property, called the zoning officer on my car trailer, claiming it was a construction trailer.

And here I am btiching about their trash cans. I feel for you guys. No, they are still doing the same thing but at least they are directly in front of my kitchen. Still they are on my property and I still gotta to pick up some of the trash. Life goes on. No, I aint moving. I have just about 1/2 acre in the back and that's too hard to come by in LA

Uh...horses & farm animals. Fly producing Caca...and yes, you can smell it when the wind's wrong.

You don't know any pig farmers that could "dispose" of your problem neighbors?

Actually I do. They're from Russia and have been farming pigs with the help of lots of vodka for 20+ years. Nicest people you could meet when they're tanked up although maybe that's my impression because I can't understand a word they say. But their pork is some of the best I've ever had. :D

Food for thought

I wish I had thought of that 10 years ago, I would have done it.

We have great neighbors. Each of us have keys to each other’s houses to help out if someone needs a dog let out or a package moved inside. But we each have 3 1/2 acres so plenty of room to stretch. All of us have cars and motorcycles so nobody minds some noise once in a while. I wasn’t always lucky with neighbors but I’m satisfied now.

I was a real estate agent for 15 years and helped a lot of people move for all kinds of reasons. If you just use the house to sleep then it’s no big deal. If it’s your oasis, don’t be afraid to place it in the right spot.

How do their garbage cans smell? Do they put them in front of your house?

Asking for a friend...

I've always had scent sensitivities, namely women's perfume. I can walk past an old lady that's marinated and it will give me a headache within minutes.f

Good to know there is someone else out there that experiences this. It the olfactory equivalent of shining an LED flashlight in your face. They put odors in so many things, trash can liners, dryer sheets, and women's perfume are the worst, but I can do without any of them.

Yes.
And this was in a community with an HOA.
That's a mistake I'll never make again...

We are thinking about it as the house to one side of us has been turned into an air bnb weekend party palace and the house on the other side is for sale. It's a shame because we have a nice home on the water that we thought we would stay in for a long time.

Yeah, I dislike scented garbage bags. It irritates me when I shake hands with someone and then maybe an hour or two later I get my hand close to my face and realize that the hand that I shook was in cologne over drive. I don't like getting into an empty elevator that I can barely breathe in because some woman bathed in perfume that morning.

I do occasionally like a woman wearing a scent, but it's few and far between and shouldn't be overpowering. I don't mind a guy wearing cologne, but I don't want to smell it. I don't get close enough to smell a dude's cologne. Good grief, the young guys with their "body spray" that they bathe in. I used to have to drive with my son with the windows down.

I guess I'm lucky, i really like all my neighbors.

Maybe I'm the bad neighbor!

Ms. Gogar's neighbors, not so great.
Family of 9.
Mom and dad are very successful career-lifer types. Never seen them. Kids do whatever they want.

One kid took dad's credit card and bought a dirt bike. In the middle of the city. That lasted about 3 days.

We used to have a lady customer that went nuts with cheap perfume. I have had bad sinus problems and my sense of smell is not great. I could be in the back of a 5,000 sq foot building, in a darkroom with two large processors full of film processing equipment making their own stink, behind double light tight doors, and I knew when Dana walked in the front door. It was so thick everyone could taste the stink. Really! If she was not bringing us a lot of business the owner would have talked to her about it.
