Picked this up yesterday, anyone remember these in a few of the early snowmobiles? 303cc wankel

Cool blast from the past You going to get it running ? If nothing else it would make a great man cave decoration .

A few people put them in hovercraft and ultralights as well (direct shaft to prop).

The plan is to get it running, I can still get all the round seals except the apex seals which I am sure can be made out of cast iron and surface ground to size, I have the manual with all the measurements, specs etc.

Might be better to see if you can modify some actual apex seals. If you want new try these guys.

The materiel is not as simple as cast iron and that may destroy the housings.

Very cool little motor good luck with the restoration.

I would try and use a seal out there now, they say the Mazda 12a seal is a fit it just needs to be ground down from .270 to .236

Certainly not the smallest of the Wankel engines. I've used one of these on an R/C model airplane in the past. Skip to about 1:50 for the action.
