Archaic limit, resize anything reasonable down to 5m...asleep at the wheel :(?
I'd tattletail to Wayne....ask Sammy, but it ain't the same....no mas. |
I always have to resize my pictures to post on PPOT on my iPhone 8.
It’s a drag, so I don’t post as many. |
LeeH,
Adjust the resolution on your camera settings. There is no need to take a photo larger than 5 MP. Your new phone is probably set to 20+ MP |

Poppycock. With modern computers and storage, take the highest resolution image possible. Most people take pictures of loved ones often. If you get the right smiles and want s nice print for the wall, you will want every pixel, especially if you crop it a little. A nice photo looks better at high resolution. |
While we’re at it, how about PM number limits?

A good phone screen is 4 megapixels A 4k monitor is 8 megapixels. Almost no one uses a 4k monitor 1920x1080 is 2 megapixels Cut the setting down to 5 MP and your problem is solved. No reason to take a photo beyond that unless you are cropping. If he's posting to a forum from his phone, he's not cropping or printing |
I'm still looking at my old 165x320 format or whatever video (which I took way back in the early days) on the big LCD monitor and I still want more.
Someday artificial intelligence synth programs will progress to being able to sharpen up anything greater than a blur to a 'T', but that is still a ways off. |

"They" will eventually get off "their" azz and fix this by raising the mb limit for uploads from 5 to "who gives a flip"...then resize it down to what is reasonable. Any other suggestion is...well Disco ;) |

Print a 8x10 from a 5 MP Camera then from a 8 MP then a 16 MP on a true high quality printer photo printer. You will se a clear difference. Memory is dirt cheap. Shoot at max resolution. Once you throw away resolution it is gone forever. Easy to reduce res, impossible to get it back. After 40 years in the photo industry, max res is all I use. And I have a 27 inch 4K monitor for my computer. |
He's not printing anything. He's posting to an internet forum. Always know the use case
|
99% of the pics on my phone are between 5-7mb in storage...at the optimal resolution.
They WILL fix it....or I'll go find Wayne eventually...or just vanish. You funny SW ;) |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1559913727.jpg I was just driving down the highway, and looked out my window at the flowers and the view of mountains. I pulled a quick u turn at the next intersection, and went back to this scenic overlook. No one else was around. I left the car running, backup up, click. I shot it enjoyed the view for a minute, and drove on to Charlotte, NC. This is 100% as shot, no Photoshop work. This image is indeed scaled down for the web site, and is actually the image I use as my "wallpaper" 3840x2160. The full res file is even sharper. I have a 24x36 print of it on the wall. |
SW luvs MP3 audio too ;).
Whether pics, audio, or any "data capture" of a moment in time....don't assume what it's destination might be... And this discussuon is just silly... FIX IT ....in green :) |
