Porsche's in the Movies
Hello
![]() Let's list movies with Porsche's. I watched a movie over the weekend "The Big Chill" (1983), that had a cool 1972 911T driven by William Hurt. It gets a lot of movie time and shows a guy trying to fly into the open Targa without opening the doors. William Hurt is a druggie, smoking weed and what not. Funny, shows him working on the engine but he is in the front of the car not back. Later ![]() |

Hurt wasn't working on the engine. He had a drug stash somewhere under the front end.

"Harper" with Paul Newman, and a neat old 356 that gets lots of screentime. They don 't make them like that anymore.

Was watching Lifegaurd (1975) with Sam Elliot a couple of weeks ago, about 3/4 of the way through the movie he interviews at a Porsche dealership, lots of cars to be seen.

And he chose to hang at the beach instead of selling them. He had the job if I remember but blew it off.

My daughter was channel surfing this past weekend and I walked in just in time to see a red 911 drive off a bridge and burst into flames in Old School with Will Farrell. Oh the horror!

the PCA list is pretty definitive.
Porsche Movies the most absurd is The Soldier, where the hero in a 911 turbo is unable to outrun the MPs in an Army Jeep, and then jumps over the Berlin Wall.

The PCA list is a list.
It is a long long way away from definitive. |

Along Came a Spider. Morgan Freeman plays Alex Cross, who drives a 1974 Porsche 911.
Recently, I think the character traded in the Porsche for a new Mercedes.. Go back to the Porsche Alex!

Porsche Movie
"Top of the Hill" 1980.
Re-made: "The Hot Touch" 1981. Great 930 sequences.
