Anybody have a Honda Ridgeline ?

Been shopping for a new truck. Im kind of wondering if I could do without a HD truck for a daily driver
Fuel is killing me running back and forth to the rental houses .
Wondering just how useful it would be. Obviously, not towing a trailer, or hauling gravel with it, but could probably do 85% of my hauling chores on a day to day basis, and for big stuff, Id just use my dually .
I have sort of always liked them from a distance .

I've been thinking about a Ridgeline also. Currently have a Honda Pilot which has only needed gas and basic service.

I’m on my 4th. 1st gen. Not the best fuel economy, but I love this truck. It’s all I need and great handling.

I was not a fan of the Honda Ridgeline but I recently saw a brand new model and I noticed that they have changed the styling to look more like a pickup (i.e., bed is separate from the cabin). I think the new version looks much, much better than the original.

I'm a died in the wool Honda fan boy, but after riding in my brother's '18 Colorado I think I'd have to take a serious look at one of them (the Chevy) before getting a Ridgeline.

-Never ridden in a Ridgeline nor have I ever shopped them. I do have an Accord with the 3.5L engine which is a close relative to what is in them.

Bite your tongue! Those are fighting words!

The Ridgeline is almost as ugly and a Pontiac Aztec, and it is not even a truck. It is a SUV with a bunch of the roof cut off. No frame, just a unibody. That is likely more than 60% of the pickup buyers need.

Have a coworker with a new Colorado and he is happy.

Why not a Tacoma?

I'm not paying the silly premium for a Tacoma . I am actually not really even a fan of the newer models.
Id just buy another 2500 hd first

I can see that, I do not see the benefit of a non HD pickup. I get 18mpg on the highway with my F350 and the idea of having another pickup that can't do everything I need is not appealing. I can see the benefit of having a smaller pickup if heavy towing is never needed.

When the towing gets really heavy he just uses his diesel dually.

He does.
But the trucks will be sitting outside for a while until he finishes moving all the cars.

Our manager here has a Colorado. It has spent over 3 months on different visits to the dealer due to transmission issues.

He is trading it in on a Ridgeline

I also have zero interest in a colorado. If I am buying a truck, I am buying a truck. no half tons, no rangers, no dakotas.

Yup, '16-17 models had trannie issues. '18 has a different trans in it.

The only thing about a Ridgeline I would be wary of is the trans. Other than that, if you treat it nice it should be a good vehicle.

I'm the third owner of a 2007, purchased last year with 143000miles for under 8K. Some rash and dents, decent quality and low cost Honda upkeep if you service yourself. I like the versatility of the 4 door, the way it drives even though the bed is little small for some things, but overall it's a good DD and weekend hauler.
