Home design/floor plan software or website, looking for suggestions

Like the title says. I am looking for suggestions for a website or software for basically a one time use designing an addition on.

- Floor plan and windows/doors
- Does not need to show all the utilities
- Like to be able to print out so can share
- Showing how the outside would look would be nice

Not sure what else to look for in software or a website

Thanks

Sketchup will work. It takes some time to learn but it will do what you ask for and for free.

Also, go to websites that sell complete plans. They have thumbnails of many plans for you to get settled on an idea.

I've used Sketchup, but it's better for modeling. Also used Autodesk Revit, but it's not cheap.

Now I'm using Chief Architecture-Home Designer. 90% of Revit, for under $100.

Garage
I used a product called Chief Architect for my build, a bit of a learning curve to use, I was familiar to other mech software Mastercam, Solidworks. Found it ok for laying out walls and windows and had a pretty good inventory for drop in cabs, oven, doors, windows, so you could do a walk through.

But I did find it was not able to give me the roof I wanted, it had a hard time with those details, but it could do more standard roof type.

You are able to do perimeter layout also and look at it.

To do it again possibly would have used Solidworks, harder to learn but no limitations. Way more costly also.

Paper and pencil probably way quicker for small job.
