No. Your words, not mine:

Seems clear to me. Maybe you should have said it differently.

I think that a “ hi yo yo” had nothing to do with it. That’s not what he was doing.

He was high, he was too fast, he was too close to the P-51 in front of him and either overshot the turn on purpose to create separation or he lost situational awareness and was just not aware of where he was with respect to the show line.

High, fast,
blancolirio say in this video

https://youtu.be/C342dfNPCyg?t=226

Thats how he suggest the P63 got high, and then would have dived down
to catch up with the P51, and then extended out to space with the P51

none of that conflicts with the video from airsafety
its all complimentary

He had already extended his previous turn to create space with the P-51. Watch this animation of the flight paths of the P-51 that was ahead of him, the P-63 and the B-17.

and if you look, he did that in the turn
by going high
which slowed him down

1 What would you call
a bend, where you go high instead of just banking and turning?

2 What happens to the seperation you created there vs the P51
when you subsequently come back down to the same altitude? right behind the P51 you spaced out from by going high in 1?

That's a yo yo

1 trades speed for altitude
2 reverse altitude for speed

That seperation is again lost if the P63 follows the P51 track from behind , because he is going faster then the P51
hence, he had to extend laterally or fly up their ass.

the flight track you posted doesn't show he was faster then the P51's, but maybe he thought he was.
Wind direction, P51s if wind came from behind P51's it would be coming from 4 oclock to the P63 so perhaps he didn't get the speed diff he thought he had on them

point remains

your video clearly shows a high yoyo initiated at this time

https://youtu.be/KHXgjj02anA?t=24 and finished around 45 seconds later

I can’t read the altitude numbers on that simulation, on my phone. Was the P-63 doing something vastly different than the P-51, with respect to altitude?

The winds were out of the Northeast.

Looking at the track, it looked to me like the P-63 had considerable speed on the P-51, as they approached the B-17’s area. Again, I can’t read any speed data on there screen. I’m just looking at the plot of the aircraft location.

both Started out at 1650 feet baro

The 63 went up to 2100 feet
the 51's stayed at 1650 ish

20 seconds later the P51es started their descend from 1625 to 500
And the P63 bit later started his steeper dive.

I'm not going to say that 500 feet climb is a lot, or a very high yoyo, in absolute altitude
its not like he reduced to 0 knots and did a hammerhead over the top,
but went higher and lost speed
and then dove and regained speed.

it spaced them out , that's the point of the high yoyo

end speed P63 219 knots
P51 did 229 on that track at that time.

Take note of the much wider track and the delayed turn from the P 63, to create space before they turned back towards the airport. That’s what I think created the majority of the space between the two fighters, you can see it on the plot of the track.

I think the bigger factor was that the airshow boss allowed them to drop down to the bomber’s altitude.

We will see, that’s what the investigation is for.

Well, thats what everybody says.. they should not be same altitude
it would have been fine if the 63 stayed in tight formation with the P51's, but multiple formations, mixed speeds , 500 feet and 1 doing dynamic chit is clearly not a good idea

The video Jolly Amaranto posted, that dude implied that he had seen unsafe stuff at CAF shows before.. And he's also flying old planes.. so he is in the business.
I mentioned it odd that he says ademantly that CAF's way of doing was accident waiting to happen.
Again, if you are in airshows and war birds and you see others do unsafe stuff
Would it not be best interst for all involved to raise awareness of that?
And you can do it in more ways then one
you can try to talk to CAF first. give em some insight
or go to the FAA, maybe not right away, but at the very least if CAF is not responsive to your attempt to talk

When safety is involved, in my opinion you must not sit back and wait for that accident you think is waiting to happen.

also odd is that he now took down his video , it is no longer on youtube. Guess some of the stuff he was saying was controversial or he is getting flack over it, or well, i don't know "laywers".
what other reasons are there for taking down such a video..Perhaps the realisation he comes across as somebody who boasts that he knew it was unsafe, but didn't do anything about it? it really was an odd statement on his behalf.

Thanks Stijn, I see what you mean. I was confused as to why the P-63 was still descending below 500 ft. I wrongly thought he was unknowingly losing altitude due to the hard left turn. If the video presentation was correct, the pilot would've faced some consequences if he made the radio call (forgot the words) to declare out of the circuit and just climb out. Just sad with varying speeds with same headings and altitudes. Why not make the circuit like a dog bone to separate speeds rather than half a dog bone. But then you'd have conflict in closing, but at different altitudes.

So that's why he climbed. Then on the return leg, he dived to catch up with his formation , the P51's ahead.

The main problem with that, was that he was still in a bank, and one cannot ever overtake inside a turn cause it is impossible to look down, to the outside of the turn, it creates a huge blind spot in the direction of flight (because G makes plane push out of the bend)
I had to search on the Yo-Yo maneuver. I'm often wrong so any corrections are appreciated.

Was painted with a high intensity blue laser this AM over French Camp, CA. Currently, the blue laser is the riskiest due to the threat of immediate eye damage. I was hit back in Feb of 2020 and now see an ophthalmologist annually to monitor for potential damage to my optic nerve.

The threat is real folks!!!

Per the contacting agency, this particular model’s output is 50,000 nw, where the typical green laser output is around 500-1000nw.

https://www.laserpointerpro.com/uking-zq-15b-50000mw-445nm-blue-beam-single-point-zoomable-5-in-1-laser-pointer-pen-kit-silver-p-3899.html

Lit the interior up like the brightest blue Christmas Tree your ever seen. We were at 6500’ and 1.5 NM offset. Guess we were ripe for the lasing.

Stay Calm and Fly On everyone.

Cheers
