Richard McSpadden died in a plane crash.
of all people.. pretty ironic that somebody that qualified and so involved in Aviation safety.. ends up dying in an impossible turn situation, which he so frequently discussed.

^This is, of course, all over the aviation forums.
Nothing but high praise for Mr McSpadden.
He put out the highest quality videos pertaining to aviation safety, accident analysis, etc.
Truly a pilot's pilot. Humble, a gentleman, all around quality guy.

Highly respected by all at his home airport, where he was always welcome in anybody's hangar

A true loss for the aviation community.

I would think that even if Russ Francis, in the left seat, was at the controls, he would have taken any and all directions and suggestions during the incident from the far more experienced McSpadden on how to handle the situation. We may never know, of course.

As a long time AOPA member this was quite shocking to hear about.

Initially, yes.

F-117s have been spotted for the last several years around the country supposedly testing new stealth technologies. Naturally the Air Force has not made any official comments on the flights.

They also use em to simulate cruise missiles for radar intercept and missile defence
training.

Great film from 1995, amazing work done with a lot of heartbreak too. I got to meet Darryl Greenamyer (right after he climbed out of an F-104) at Williams Gateway airport a couple years after this event. Neat guy.

A good friend of mine rented this for his 70th birthday last month because he really wanted to make this flight.
