Just like the ultra left paints anyone slightly right of center as racists and Nazis, the ultra right has to describe dems as soviet style dictators. Unfortunately, this is turning people away from meaningful conversations about issues.

Yeah, people are intellectually lazy. Many find quite a lot of utility in projecting emotion. --it's a game of who can play outraged better than the next. --which, btw, is full-ON people turning away from meaningful conversations about issues.

IOW, trolling produces some meaningful conversations about issues.

Whereas emo-outrage competitions do nothing. - and if you don't accept this truth this I'm going to be really really angry. G'Damit you had better believe me!

See, stupid. Oh wait, did that ^ work on some of you?

The dude who made that videos is full on emo outrage - he even has the pinky and thumb rings to prove it.

maybe. But he was laying down some points.

Choose what you react to... and what you respond to. (there's a difference.)

Here we saw a mix.

That dude is spouting blather but it's just pushback from the full on (white)man-hating campaign.

Once women begin to realize that true equality is also working those extra long hours and the dirty hazardous jobs of men, and that bed is still empty, and that nobody is going to rub their tushy, or fix the door, they will begin to have some appreciation and respect for the other sex.

In the meantime we get to watch them save the world.

The guy in the video putting down single moms and the like is much like the folks here that bash PARF (and those that post there). Both full of self-loathing and inferiority. At least the fellow in the video made some valid points...while the PARF bashers avoid PARF because they simply cannot. Most visit PARF with pathetic little attacks and then throw a tirade when presented a better argument...and laughed at. They only return when they think they have some sort of infallible point/position...which is usually neither factual nor intelligent...and they get spanked again and leave mad. Their grudge (complete with tantrums and insults) never seems to end. They know that they can take those cheap shots from the protective womb of OT...where non-PC ideas are just not allowed. They can soil themselves and then just call for mommy (the moderator) to delete any facts or opinions that threaten their ignorance/world view.

They somehow fail to recognize that most of the folks they whine about and demand go back to PARF...were often contributing here long before they were (and have at least as much right to post here as they). There is nothing the least bit religious or political in this thread. The one breaking the rules is the ones with the personal attacks, not the folks they whine about. Typically, it is the usual suspects who make the first political post then whine when there is disagreement.

Notice he is talking about women who got knocked up and had kids but did not get married. That demonstrates poor decision making, poor character, and irresponsibility.
Excuses are the norm for "some". Shame on him!
Personal accountability is bad, expecting it is unreasonable and cruel.
bah

My father gave me some advice a long time ago (in so many words): be careful, your decisions have consequences. Do not get a girl pregnant out of wedlock, it will screw up your life and hers.
Don't hook up with a girl who has already screwed up her life, her mistakes will become yours.
Don't marry a woman who has been divorced, and don't marry a woman who's parents are divorced. If you do, she'll bail as soon as thing get rocky.
If you find a decent girl who' parents have stuck it out and made it work, it's likely she will too.

He was right, and I listened to him.
I married a good woman who had never been married and didn't have kids, and who's parents are still together.
I've been married once, over 27 years do far.
My three brothers listened too, and they've all been married longer than I have.
Four sons, no divorces, no bastard kids.

Interestingly, my father married a divorced woman with two kids and made it work (58 years until his death), but the sacrifices he had to make were impressive to say the least. A lesser man would not have pulled that off.
So he knew what he was talking about.

BTW, IMO the a-holes who get girls knocked up and walk away without even trying to be decent fathers should have their nuts cut off with a dull hack saw. A little at a time.

I have to largely agree with this (matches my experience). Life is pretty darned hard, why make it harder?

Tervuren 08-03-2019 12:03 PM

My own experience is in line with Sammy's post.

I would also say that there are a lot of problems caused by conflicting expectations.

A lot of people seem unable to realize they even have them.

For example:

I know females that if asked if they want to be a man's one and only, say yes.

If also asked if they want a male that is sexually experienced, say yes.

You won't be his one and only if he's been practicing on other females.

Yet time and time again I observe women that harbor these conflicting ideas.

A lot of crazy is generated by an expectation of turning short term pleasure into long term successful monogamy. A continual string of failure to do the latter while allowing the former without first securing the latter results in an increase in mental imbalance. It also is a path to a truck load of unhappiness.

It is my observation that one should either walk the hippie path and not expect monogamy; or take an objective path that rejects the calls of chemistry until after security is established.

People I know that are unhappy in dating/marriage are generally people with conflicting expectations.

Fint, the OT threads that really make me point-n-laugh, and I know they have the same effect on you, are the ones that are obviously controversial and politically charged, and yet the originator starts off with, please don't PARF this up, which is of course, code for, don't disagree with me or offer an alternative take whatsoever.

^^^^ Naw...that ain't it Runnie...to bad yer in the band and can't get skooled in PARF....where the intellectuals hang ;).

It's not disagreement or exchanging barbs, etc. Both sides....I find it amusing....always have...but then there is the nasty side of PARF :(.

That's what "I" have meant....because there are a whole bunch of good guys here who will not go there....

Some of us have been "sparring" for almost two decades...

I have personally attacked fint here....axe him :)

edited: I'm not starting those type of threads now....truce bichez :)

Some take it serious....

.....me neither ;)

. . . .

The PARF bisches have neither the skillz or the ballz to "skool" me, KC! :)

True, there is some nastiness there; such as people that post another member's pics and personal information without consent, make actual threats against others for having a differing viewpoint (such as FintIsStoned has experienced), throw insane, cry-baby fits because they don't like another members sense of humor and opinions, etc . . .

Sammy pointed it out. Personal responsibility for your actions.

One of my former coworkers pointed it out succinctly.

In life, you are exactly where you decided to be right now. You have made choices all your life. One leads to another. Those choices have led you to your present point in life. If you don’t like where you are, make changes to get there.

Only you made the choices that got you to your present position.

KFC911 08-03-2019 01:33 PM

Anyone who followed fint and Terry's fiasco is going....hmmm ;).

I like fint, I like Terry, I like Runnie... me no like PARF.....nor the "nasty" spillover here. I'll go to PARF and quit teasing the the PDS'ers here with jabs....but it IS fun :)

Throw Runnie out of the PARF band!!!

As far as I am concerned, Ronnie should not be banned from PARF. I don't even know why he was...but he is no worse than others there...and here.

I post in PARF a lot, or post that PARF sux a lot...which one do you mean? I've bounced in and out of PARF since it's inception...some seriously good threads over there, but it's freakin' politics :(. Somewhere along the journey I found a life where it's just background noize..me no likey PDS all the time...only in small doses.

I actually can't remember the last time I visited PARF....mebbe the stock market thread....or ?.

Just two topics I'm not THAT into....on an Internet forum...or in the real world either ;)

Different strokes....

The "spillover" is almost always started (like in this thread) by folks that are the ones who complain about PARF and those who post there most. Anytime a person posts anything that one of those folks disagrees with, they invoke PARF in a personal attack to immunize their own personal attack (or argument).

No one that gets accused of being PARFers these days has ever sent folks to my house to kick my arse or tried to make me lose my job...or doxed my blind, sick (in her mid 80s) mother. All were those nice OT folks that complain about those mean people in PARF.

I have always liked you...but you sure talk about PARF a lot in the OT portion of the BBS yourself...trolling.

If they'll let me in the PARF band, and kick Runnie out....

My cobell solos WILL be posted in PPOT.....yippie!

I actually don't remember Runnie much from PARF....but there are about 6-8 PARF doozies
...and yet they seem absolutely normal on the outside :).

I have always declared PARF a cesspool, but am absolutely guilty of "poking the PARF bears" over the years just to hear them growl...
just because :). I have ceased....mostly ;)....

I'll go to PARF for that stuff....when I'm ready too...say Oct. 2020 ....the anticipation will likely drive me nutz....
