another Color of money scene
Keith McCready played the character Grady Seasons. Real life hustler, tournament player, general ner do well. Amazingly talented with a fast & loose style. Crazy sidearm stroke picked up from childhood, when he was too short to take a more normal stance. Childhood prodigy, if you will. Pool crowds loved watching him..
One tale related on a pool site I believe...back when Keith was maybe 14-15, taking on and taking money from most of the best Southern Cal had at the time. Guy who related the tale asked Keith why he wasn't in school. Keith said he was kicked out for having too much money. Seems he was afraid to leave his pool winnings in a locker, afraid it would get stolen. So he asked the P.E. teacher if he'd hold the money for him. Teacher agreed...then was handed $13,000! Keith probably would be dead today except for a good woman who cleaned him up and settled him down. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IUXEWVH9BQ

Too big to fail
|
In my younger days, a girl with whom I had a casual encounter thought it would be sexy to do that. I'm not sure how she explained the mess on the pool table to her dad, but that fell into the category of "not my problem."
