Asking the unanswer-able: .22 pistol
 (a follow up to the "how to shoot better thread) I've been using a Browning Buckmark, but have been having multiple problems with it not fully discharging the spent shell after shooting and jamming. I've sent it back to Browning for repair and used the ammo they suggested; it still has the same problem. Is there another make recommended?

How many rounds have been through it? Some of the tighter units need a few/several hundred rounds to function properly.

Paul, we have one of those too. The kids like dad's High Standard Double Nine a whole lot more. The Double Nine is technically double action but the pull on double action feels like 50# (it is probably only 10-12) so functionally is it single action. Easier to unload and load is what they like.

We start with the SS and then move to the Ruger MK II, a 1980’s beast, when they are comfortable. Again, nice pistols!

Ruger makes a nice semi auto target spoon as well. i know the MkII and MkIII shoot very well.

My Colt Diamondback .22 lr does NOT suck! That probably doesn't help ya though.... good luck

a 1911 in .22 s a great shooter as well with a match barrel, but they can be finicky for the first 500 rounds.

You might want to consider a revolver as has previously been suggested . Two weeks ago I was teaching my 9 year old grandson how to shoot my .22 Ruger stainless steel revolver . He got the hang of it pretty quick , it goes bang every time you pull the trigger and loads/unloads perfectly .

Yep, Dean...that's my toy too. Spoke w/ Browning again and they suggested that I might have an older style buffer (on the recoil spring) which would indicate that some parts could be updated. Tandemkross also makes a more aggressive extractor that I might add on.
I think I'll just play with this guy awhile and see if I can't make it behave. Thanks for the feedback all.

Bought this new about a year ago (Ruger Mk 4 Hunter with fluted barrel). Like a nail gun. Haven’t used it in some time. One button take-down is awesome. Tend to prefer my 9mm’s. If you want a good deal...

Rick, a failure to fully extract and eject a spent shell casing is often a magazine problem, not a gun problem. It can come from the magazine holding the next round too high or at the wrong angle. Are you using the mags that came with it? Have you tried different mags?

Jeff, I went to the range just now and put a hundred rounds thru...rather than stove piping, it was a matter of the slide not moving fully forward. Original mags.
It is the older recoil, so maybe an update will help (only second time trying it after a factory service)
