Hurricane Dorian
Still a ways out for those in the Eastern US but NOAA forecast right now is excess of 110MPH at landfall.....Happy Labor Day!

Ah, the last that I saw it was still a TS.
I heard that they were putting it making landfall in N FL. I'd be perfectly happy if it did one of those moves where it curved off to the northeast before it hit FL. I've got a bunch of family about 100 miles south of you. |

I was getting a bit worried about my friends in the Turks. Previous predictions had it passing directly through there...after PR
|
I bet this thing crosses Florida, gets in to the gulf and hits us direct. Our rainfall this year has been unbelievable.
|
I just hate these things. Lets see how the new roof from the last hurricane holds up. Sure hope it tracks to the north.
|
Here is a great web page that puts all the info in one place.
https://spaghettimodels.com/ I hate watching The Weather channel or any local TV station they are all making people freak out. I am already seeing people running around with Plywood and at the gas stations filling up gas cans. |
/\ /\ /\ I don't. We just a new roof too!
I agree with the weather channel deal. Too much hype...just like they did the snow storms up north. |
I put a new metal roof on 4 years ago, I had them re-deck before putting it on too.
I am about 100 miles south of the projected landfall, if it stays in the Cape Canaveral area. I will look again tomorrow, as of right now I am not even bothering to shutter up. |
If they tell you to shutter up....shut up & shutter up ;).
Best to you guys....stay safe! |

Batten down the hatches Baz. |
I'll take the path less traveled.
Cat 3 with landfall in north Georgia. |
Piece o crap Dorian. The initial tracks were out to Atlantic, far from the coast, and weakening.
Now this. Gonna start prepping shutters tomorrow. |
Our youngest son lives in Orlando , already texted him to get his supplies in order . Stay safe out there .

Just got back in from a provision run. My Mom stopped driving last December so I pick up provisions for her too.
All bottled water gone and all gas stations with lines and people jockeying for position. No friction though - everyone cool. Couple of the pumps had the yellow bags on them - meaning no more fuel from that pump. I topped up the truck with regular and then got another 12 gallons in non-ethanol in several fuel cans for my generator, if needed. That should last me a couple days easily, which is probably all I would need if our power went out. We have our own utilities company here and they are very responsive. I told Mom not to worry - if it looks bad enough, I would come get her and bring her over to my place for the duration. Should know a lot more by Friday. Best of luck to all......and please keep us posted as necessary. |
