True, but, given the choice, I’d rather listen to someone who’s voice is a little more pleasant.

There are a lot of vocalists who have had quite a bit of success, without having what I consider a very good voice. Cat Stevens comes to mind, as does Rod Stewart.

Music is funny in that way.

For some reason Brittany Spears was popular even though she needs autotune.

Her audience was comprised of 13-year-old girls, who probably have never heard of autotune. Frankly, that probably goes for 99% of the public, who spend their days listening to MP3 tracks on their smart phone or iPod. Crap in, crap out.

God forbid someone should enlighten them that it’s even worse than auto tune, all of their modern heroes have comped vocal tracks.

Actually more aerobics than yoga. That program was called Aerobicise. Eye-candy at its finest...

Ok, gimmy a break, it was 38 years ago, so the details get fuzzy. I had not even thought about it until MTV playing music videos was mentioned.

I bet more tweenaged boys watched the videos of her than girls.

Music for the digital age I guess. I admit, we have MP3s on a flash drive in the car. Doesn't bother me.

Teenage boys, their dads, who knows? I think a big component of her fan base now is gay men, for whatever reason.

As for MP3’s, I’ve never owned a single one. I’ve never owned an iPod, never downloaded a song, I’ve got absolutely no music on my iPhone and none of my audio systems will play an MP3. I occasionally watch a YouTube video on my computer, God help me.

As much as I do not care for Christina Aguillera, she has a phenomenal voice. I remember seeing her singing on some local morning program in Pittsburg when she could not have been more than 10 or 12 years old. The big sound that came out of that tiny little kid was just amazing to me.

Here's Jagger working hard to keep up on a duet of Live With Me

We don't have sat radio and it is difficult to take CDs in the car so I ripped all them and put them on the flash drive. On the road it sounds fine.

This girl can put out some sound.

Yeah, mellow times.

Eggzactly.

A lot depends on how blunted your memory of the past is, possibly combined with not watching as much news when younger compared to having the free time to do it today.

I remember hearing Lea Ann Rymes (sp?) at 11 sing “Blue” the first time. I couldn’t believe a little kid could sing like that.
