Musicians...anyone here use a DAW?
I want to get a home version of a DAW but I don't want to drop a grand on a MAC in order to get Garageband or Logic.
Anyone here use a PC variant? Mixcraft? Musicmaker? FL Studio?

I've used Cakewalk and had more features than I needed. It depends on your needs.

I use a Fender Precision, Ampeg amp and Bergantino cabinet. I don't think they are compatible with a DAW. Which is nice, considering I only have capacity to work two knobs and a switch. And that's pushing it.

Adobe Audition (what I like the most)
Harrison Mixbus (will be trying soon, apparently very good) Cubase (occasionally) ProTools (it sucks, but has its uses)

My daughter uses Mixcraft 8 for her stuff. She has a MIDI keyboard hooked up for a lot of the "work" and also records her bass and guitar with it and it allows you to mix it in with the digital stuff. She has another free one she used but said it is a lot harder to work with, but it does do bass drops.
