Dgr 2019

If you attended the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride this year in your town please post your pics. Here are mine from the San Luis Obispo ride. The grey 91 R100 classic is mine.

The ride is to raise money and awareness for men's health including prostate cancer screening and mental health and suicide prevention. This year over 113K riders were registered and just under $5.5 million was raised.

No pic's but I did the Wellington one for the third year. About three hundred of us. It was fun riding shoulder to shoulder through town, unnecessarily rev'ing at the lights, full on take offs. Lots of fun and a few vinos at the end.

Seattle, Washington here - we had 3 groups this year - each one rode about 35 miles in a couple of hours.

1.) East Side - 79 riders
2.) North End - 254 riders
3.) South End - 165 riders

I joined the East Side group. We met at a local brewery at about 8:30 am on Sunday morning. It had rained a couple of hours earlier and the roads were wet with standing water here and there. Here's a picture of me leaving the house in 45 deg weather.

Here's a picture of some of the East Side organizers:

We stopped every 10 miles or so to regroup and have time to meet each other and talk about the bikes. Eventually we met the other 2 groups at a famous Seattle restaurant named Ivars Fish Bar on the North end of Lake Union. Over 500 vintage and cafe bikes.

The ride ended at the Cretins motorcycle club https://cretins.org/
They had a bonfire going, a live band, and a food truck. Prizes were awarded for best bike, best gentlemen, best gentlewoman, and best rider/bike. I got several votes, but didn't win anything. Still a good time and a great ride.

I'd have taken photos but it was ruined by some chap with a honda dirt bike, albeit impeccably dressed, but still lowered the standard.
