				Shipping an Engine Overseas?
			 
			
			One of the people interested in my engine is located overseas.  This raises the question -- has anyone here ever shipped a 911 engine overseas?  If so,  please share what you learned from the experience.  Do you have any advice regarding carriers? Customs? Packaging?

			Different country.  But I sold my spare 915 gearbox, and other parts to Fishcop in Australia.  I saw a shipping agent who sends stuff by the container load.  I bought a tea chest from them that really had had shipped tea from Celon. 			I sent a complete Super 90 to France. I acquired a crate from a local carrier, with tip indicators, inside and out. Inside is key for Insurance.  
		
	
		
	
			
			
		
		
		
		
		
		
		
	
	I would never ship anything the way that 917 went. Full crate!!! You will have customs paperwork, and federal paperwork. It's fairly simple.  |

			I ALWAYS let the buyer make arrangements and get their own shipping quotes. I'll put it on a pallet or build a crate if the buyer pays for one. Then I'll forklift into the truck, take a picture and send it to the buyer. If you don't let the buyer handle shipping, you are taking responsibility all the way to the buyer's location.
