Hot on the heels of the 'super' parenting thread comes the obverse:

Seems like Michael Rotondo, the 30 year old, unemployed, 'super' child whom pays no rent and does no household work, ignored the formal letters from Mom & Dad to vacate the house so they took him to court. The Wonder Boy, who represented himself in court, demanded 6-months notice before he would leave which the judge found to be unacceptable and told him to get out. Of course, Wonder Boy did not think the supreme court justice that heard the case did not read the case properly and will be appealing. It would appear that WB has a very healthy ego if nothing else.

My favorite part is Mom & Dad gave him $1100 to help with moving expenses which Wonder Boy spent it on "expenses" saying "I had to spend it and I'm not sorry about it" and "my business is my business". How is it possible to be nearly 31 years old and have personal business when you do nothing to support yourself?

Of course there is "super" parent overlap as there is a discussion to be had of parental enabling and how much is too much. In my mind, while they allowed more than I ever would, at least they did finally gather their stones enough to toss out the bum.

New York millennial ordered to vacate parents' home packs up his room and finalizes moving plans

The New York man who made headlines last week after he was ordered by a judge to vacate his parents’ home has started packing up his belongings and finalizing moving plans.

Michael Rotondo, 30, of Camillus, was preparing his move by going to Lowe’s to buy boxes for packing.

He said he was offered free packing supplies by a Home Depot employee but turned her down, saying it did not feel right, the Post-Standard of Syracuse reported. When asked by the paper why he declined the woman’s offer but took $3,000 from radio show host Alex Jones he said, “Alex Jones makes money for having me on his show, but the woman does not.”

The paper followed Rotondo as he packed before Friday, the legal deadline. During that time, a person called the man on a restricted number and said “loser” before hanging up. Rotondo called police following the call.

"I can't have my phone getting jammed up with nonsense like that," Rotondo said. "I can't have that happen."

He told the Post-Standard he was not too sure how long it would take to pack his room but noted that his belongings would go into a self-storage unit.

"Looking around my room and stuff - how much more is all this going to take to pack?" he asked.

"There's no more urgency after that," he added. "Everything else is just finding a long-term place."

Rotondo said he was still looking for the perfect place, which he described as “someplace inexpensive, with internet.”

I'm thinking that would require some sort of "effort", and this guy obviously does not do effort.
Maybe he can get paid to endorse someone else's lazy product, that wouldn't really require any work on his part.

But then again, his target market would likely be too lazy to afford or buy the product, lots O'flaws.

He's got brass ones, but represents a great deal of what is wrong with people and our society. I see nothing in him that is worthy of admiration or worthy of anything.

Wait for the kid to be out of the house for an extended period, say half day. Get a locksmith to change all locks, move all their stuff to the driveway, lock doors.

Alert the kid to get their stuff and warn them that you will call the police for trespassing in case he breaks into the house. If you are more aggressive, you can also threaten to shoot them if they break in.

Of course, if you can pull off the above, a simple GTFO! would have probably gotten the kid to leave when they were 18 ...

I'm thinking you would never have to deal with that situation as you'd never allow it to develop to that point.

In some cultures (and 1st gen here as I've rented from) the child stays with the family until middle years and marriage etc. But they go to school, work, fix, cook, learn, help with grandparents, and the mortgage in the meantime. The parents crack the whip.

I think whips are illegal according to CPS.

Millennial evicted from parents' home paid for car storage, but balked at child support, records show

The New York millennial booted out of his family’s home this week had complained in past years that he was too broke to pay for his 8-year-old son’s child support – despite dropping nearly $10,000 on a storage unit to house his broken cars, it has been revealed.

Michael Rotondo – who was evicted from the home Friday in Camillus after eight years of rent-free living and a lengthy, highly-publicized court battle with his parents – had also been at odds with the mother of his son.

“He terrorized me,” the 33-year-old woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, told the New York Post.

Rotondo was ordered in October 2016 to pay the mother of the child $56 per week – up from the $25 he was originally forking over, the newspaper reported, citing court records. But the 30-year-old still owes around $2,500, the mother added.

Rotondo lost joint custody of the child last year after battling the mother in Onondaga County Family Court. And the court’s judge, Julie Cecile, described Rotondo’s efforts to find a job “minimal at best.”

A June 2017 filing said Rotondo opposed paying more for child support, despite paying $920 yearly for a storage unit to house his broken Chevrolet Camaro and Volkswagen Passat vehicles, according to the New York Post.

“When questioned why he did not sell such belongings, he claimed that they had no value except sentimental, and that he had no legitimate answer for the obvious question of why it made sense to spend more than $9,000 over the last five years to store valueless belongings, at the same time asserting that he could not afford to pay support for his son,” Cecile wrote in a ruling that sided with the mother.

Rotondo reportedly testified that he applied to only two jobs in 2016 – but turned his nose up at working in retail or fast food establishments because “he did not want to accept a position he did not think he could work at for at least three years,” Cecile added.

In early 2017, Rotondo also ignored a court order to produce records of his job search and skipped out on attending a “parent-support program” that would have helped him find work, the New York Post reported, citing Cecile’s verdict.

The last job the millennial had was in March 2017 as a part-time ski instructor, earning $9.70 an hour, court records revealed.

Rotondo claims the dispute with his parents stemmed from him opposing their desire to obtain visitation rights with the child.
