No distractions is important. Yet all the car makers love putting distracting touch screens in the middle of the dash.

Sounds like the parents picked a good car for a bad teenaged driver to me. Too bad about the passengers, though. Very tragic.
So you think it was doing the speed limit, but then magically jumped over edge of a railway bridge after having a little slow speed fender bender?

Maybe PASM had a malfunction and catapulted it straight up in the air or sommin?

Did the Macan actually hit the very unforgiving rails?

Surely over time in some of the random image threads on this forum you have seen pictures of flipped parked cars when a wedge shaped car caught under them in a crash?

This is a SUV, and although a small one, all it takes an oncoming car to act as a ramp.

On oncoming car also greatly increases the collision speed involved.

It's possible. Physics are a whacky thing and can do crazy things at time.

According to the paper the car was in flames upside down on the tracks with the girl screaming while she was barbecued. There were pics of the dead car, thankfully not the people.

The link I posted didn't have it when I first posted it.....it came off of AOL or Fox news.

That's not to say that it was modified after I viewed it....lo siento, Jefe.

You city people are funny...

Both of my kids started driving before they were 5 on a 50cc 2 stroke quad (my son started at 3). They moved up to a Honda CRF50 from there. They also have access to a 90cc quad and my son is now riding a Honda CRF110 he got as an early present for his 9th birthday.

They also go-kart and started at 5 years old on a 1.2km FIA approved track.

My daughter at 6 in her second kart running a LO206 with a purple slide that will do 50MPH.

My son in the lead here in his 3rd kart. He is 9 and has been racing for 2 seasons.

I let my son drive our 115 HP yard tractor all the time and he is a very safe driver. He also drives our vehicles in the field (we have 300 acres).

I think if kids are taught to drive from an early age, it’s OK to start them out in a powerful car at 16. I wish my parents would have put me through drivers training like most of my friends did when they were 16. It took me a lot of years to break bad habits. I fully intend to give my kids 911s for their 16th birthdays. I have a few project cars they can help me build for them.

I had a Corvette at 17 (still have it) and admittedly I was a terrible driver. I also had some 280ZX Turbos and other sports cars in high school. None of these were as safe as today’s cars.

At the moment, we really don't know who did what.

We know another car was involved.

Not article posted has had more.

In general, the public doesn't really have an understanding of how a "mistake" can end up costing lives.

Be it a Porsche, VW, Ford, etc...

I also notice people learn differently.
For me, if you say "speed kills", I'll wonder why people survive air plane flights.
It is instead, "speed beyond conditions kill".

It isn’t speed that kills, it is coming to a full and complete stop rapidly that kills.
