Looks like the 3M product is available on Amazon. It states it dries clear - but I'd imagine it would NOT be glossy - but rather a satin/flat appearance so that bonding of the oversprayed product is enhanced. It's also available in 5 gallons too.

When I was airbrushing R/C race cars I used liquid mask. Was easy enough to remove back then and you could certainly tell where it was on the clear lexan.

I used to take photos of small, shiny parts. Hairspray always worked for me to reduce reflection but never had to wash it off. It must wash off hair so suggest you try it.
