I rarely shop / buy there. If you research a little they are not always the cheapest especially with shipping where they hook you by sandbagging on delivery dates for the lowest cost hoping you'll upgrade to quicker and more expensive shipping which is usually unnecessary.
This is not the first time I heard or seen this from them. So I avoid it.

I recently bought a Walbo 255 fuel pump on Amazon that I'm fairly certain is not genuine. The car would not run past 4000 rpm with it installed. Put stock pump back in and the car ran fine.

They don't
I am still amazed that China was given "Most Favored Nation" in order to continue engagement as a way of influencing foreign policy. This has clearly been a failure though nobody is sure what would have "worked" or if that is possible. If it makes you feel any better my understanding is that Chinese firms do this to each other all the time stealing spokesperson images, branding etc. from more successful Chinese brands. |

Not sure about counterfeit...but I know quite often my Amazon purchases have been used/returned items. Packages stapled or taped where they shouldn't be...ok with me, as long as it works.
Last year, I purchased a new De Marchi cycling jacket from Amazon. One day after using it, I found a house key with Italian writing on, in a small chest pocket on the jacket. Must be genuine!

Ever see someone that's had plastic surgery? Big boobs? Admit it. They're not bad looking.

I have heard other people with the same complaint. A true Walbro 255 will deliver way more fuel than a typical stock pump. I used one in a 350 motor running 85% ethanol for 3 years, no problem.

One of the big problems I see with Amazon reviews is that some people are reviewing the vendor and some the product. Anything sold under a given listing is supposed to be the exact same product, but we know that ain't so.
When I buy from Amazon, I'll only buy when it's sold by Amazon. Life's too short to worry about saving a few pennies and ending up with crap. I know Amazon's return policy is pretty generous, but it's still a hassle. Gary |

Plastic surgery is fine and can often improve a persons life especially after an accident or illness so no issues there. Fake watches are something else entirely. If you can't afford the real thing then why wear a fake? Even if everybody thinks it's real I can't see the point of wearing something you know is fake. If you want a Rolex, save up and buy second hand and if you buy the right one it will never lose value.

I'm not a fan of fake boobs, by the way. They usually fill out a shirt, but unleash them and they are usually not attractive. And the possible changes as they've been in a while (scar tissue) and the possible health implications make them muy undesirable.

It's all about looking attractive to someone you're trying to impress. Nothing wrong with it. You'd have a lot of trouble telling the real thing from the A-quality fake ones on somebody walking down the street. |

We buy often from Amazon, we probably get 3 or 4 deliveries a week. It’s an hour drive to the nearest town with decent shopping options. We don’t have time for it, especially for even slightly obscure items (like Semolina flour). I don’t buy anything that doesn’t have at least 10 reviews. You gotta read the reviews. I was looking for some Hella headlights and found some at about 1/2 the going price. Reading the reviews I found out they were for right hand drive cars!
I wish there was a good alternative, I don’t particularly like supporting Amazon.

I bought a pair of Timberland Pro steel toe workboots that looked so damn real but just didn't feel right somehow. The soles fell apart on both of them within days of each other in about a month. Really good fakes, i got taken.
Replaced with what look exactly like the same model off the shoe truck at work for much more $. Much better, not the same boots.

I'm knocking. Just like watches, it's tough to tell from a few feet and they still operate properly.

Its becoming a problem that Jeff should pay attention to. I've had it happen with a number of things lately. Birkenstock was so pissed they stopped selling to Amazon, so Amazon began to buy from retailers to resell.
They claim they can't police it. Eventually the public is going to revolt.
