Sporting clays - unique golf cart/UTV/car uses!

Got back into sporting clays this past May and have really enjoyed it. One of the fun parts is seeing the solutions people come up with for toting gear and guns. At bigger shoots there are multiple events one can sign up for leading to situations where you may not make the start time without motorized help. Consequently it's very common now to see golf carts, UTV's and yes, even Smart cars on the course!

Paul I shoot tourneys in Md, NJ and De.

Schraeders, Hopkins, Pintail Point are in Md and great fun. Owens Station is in Delaware and M&M is in NJ just across the bridge. Meet all kinds of great people at the shoots as you are usually squadded in groups of 4 and it is truly random. You could be grouped with a national champ or a guy who's doing it for the first time.

My son, the One-Eyed Jack, has done a few in Georgia while in law school, so when he moves to Norfolk this would be something we'd do together...understanding we may not shoot together.

Trust me, the group that gets him is in luck.

NSCA is the governing body. Winscoreonline.com will give you registered tournament schedules and can be sorted by state.

There are also plenty of charity shoots which tend to be a bit less challenging and usually have great food. For example Owens has one in the winter with AYCE oysters and pulled pork.

I'll need to start slow. We do a lot of trap and hand held throwing here on the farm. It's funny, three kids that grew up shooting clays here all shot in college.

We made it safe, fun and challenging...I made sure of it and that's why I rarely shot as much as the others. Range safety is penultimate and my job.

We'll have our Friday shoot after Thanksgiving.

Our children's hospital here in Jax sponsors a huge shoot in the spring . They raffle of one of these every year. For $10 a ticket its a good deal. This lady won it this year.
