Crane toppled on my job today, thankfully no one was hurt, the crane is a little dinged up though. I guess OSHA will be paying us a visit.

Now I know how to pick up a tipped crane...get a bigger crane! Looks like they shoulda done that in the first place?

I can relate, was a ticketed crane operator in my early 20's; never flipped one, but that was the hardest job on my nerves I've ever done!
Glad to hear no one was hurt, the crane is probably scrap metal now.

Cost of turning over a big crane
ALOT!!!! We lost half a day production from a few of the crews, had to take the bigger crane away from what it was doing to right the crane, there are the fines we got from the city for illegally closing a ramp. Then there is sending the righted crane out for repair and recertification (the boom on the crane appeared to rupture so we probably need a new boom) And then the mandatory stand down, and general safety meeting followed by a safety meeting for the crane operators that little incident probably cost $50000, probably more. ![]()
