You already used your luck. Be glad you woke up in the morning. Now just let the nice medical staff save your assets.

Best

Wow...best to you Flat...you still have more rabble to rouse ;)!

madcorgi 12-04-2019 04:04 AM

Yikes, FB! Glad you had a neighbor looking out for you. Too often the first symptom of heart trouble is sudden death. Be well, kitten, you just used one of your nine.

recycled sixtie 12-04-2019 04:37 AM

Lots of good advice above. Do what the doctor tells you and hoping for a speedy recovery!

Thanks gang, ha you do make me laugh. Still in the hospital but the good news is no heart muscle damage. Still waiting on the finer details from the cardio dude. Flatbutt abides!

Not listening to the doctors is about as smart as making a huge wager that the Devils will win the cup this year... (sorry, I hope it made you chuckle)

Glad you dodged a bullet, flatbutt.

For lots of people there is an armoire that needs moved with their name on it. Choose no from this point forward.

Oh man they suck this year.SmileWavy

I'm listening but no one is talking. I'm sitting here all day with no information as to why I'm still here.

I wonder, if I sign myself out AMA does medicare refuse to pay?

cabmandone 12-04-2019 09:53 AM

Hell man! You're on medicare? What are you complaining about? My Mom spent a month down in Cbus after a brain aneurysm and it didn't cost much out of pocket. Sit tight, relaxe... check out the nurses! See a really hot one though make sure you look away. Those aren't easy on the ticker.

I guess one could argue that I am lucky from the following list of life events that have happened to me over my 54 years, My 9 lives !

1. Hit by a 45 mph locomotive in a Pinto in 1982 100 stitches to my face, and shoulder when pinned between the windshield, and rear window...no broken bones.
2. 1987 Hodgkins Lymphoma at age 23 with 6 months of daily radiation treatments
3. 1989 DVT blood clot in my chest from radiation treatments. week in the hospital.
4. 1992 Recurrence of Hodgkins 23 chemo treatments using ABVD drugs.
5. 2001 CHF cogestive heart failure by the use of Adriamicin in "A"BVD cancer drugs.
6. 2007 recurrence of CHF
7. 2013 Speeding drunk runs stop sign into the side of my Porsche...17 broken bones, lacerated liver 6 months off work learning to walk again
8. 2013 Blood clots in both legs from being static after accident.
9. 2017 New pacemaker/defib from failing heart, IGG4 disorder 25 chemo treatments (&) kidney function reduction all at the same time.

I still live an active life, and work hard at my job, and at home on the farm after all this, but some consider me lucky (and out of available lives).

Flatbutt...please note #9...you can imagine how many doctors I have had to tolerate, don't mess with your health !

For the love of all that is reasonable, sit it out.

That, and it turns you from an unfortunate, sympathetic character into a dumbass worthy of disdain and abuse.

A bit of advice from an ex-dead dude that has been there, done that and returned from the other side to a nearly dead dude ;)

Keep your ass in that hospital bed, let the doctors do their stuff and don't rush trying get out of hospital or your mending

You were more than lucky, you got away with it so don't push your luck You don't want a next time

We should call you Luckybutt from now :D

When I was discharged after my cardiac arrest at home, a 3 day ice packed coma and a week in intensive care the nurse ran me through some brain agility tests.

She asked me to name 3 words beginning with 'F'

I didn't do very well as I ran out of words after f**k and fart :D so I pleaded that as I was with a responsible adult Mrs Ahab I was ok to leave :D

Jolly Amaranto 12-04-2019 01:27 PM

Glad there was no damage. Now hang around and let the doctors do their thing. Don't need you skipping out on them. And most of all, keep laughing.

flatbutt 12-04-2019 03:24 PM

OK OK OK you guys win!

rwest 12-04-2019 03:25 PM

Flatbutt,

Let them take care of you, be real nice to the nurses and they will give you extra attention.

Hospital food has gotten better too- enjoy the free popsicles!

Get well soon,
Rutager

Well, technically we are only right. YOU, FB II and III are the ones who will win. Just say'n because I could totally see myself contemplating the same things you're writing here.

Indeed your point is well taken. My biggest issue, personality wise is that it has taken a long time for me to get marginally comfortable with asking for, let alone needing help. I'm working on it but am nowhere near mastering it.
