Mommy van drivers suck. Hit and run.

So I got my cab running after revival of the AGM Optima battery from death. Due to weather and other issues it’s been parked on a charger. Late last night some wanker in a schitzbox drove into the lot and then tried a lameass three point turn and nailed the passenger fender and oil tank.

There is video surveillance and looks like the driver does have insurance. Gonna have to take some close up views up on rack.

Fixable but I ain’t happy.

Tenants at the complex recognized the driver and a cell number was obtained. I’ll try to post the video later. State Farm is involved.

Damn, that sucks. May justice prevail. Some drivers are so dense, they literally don't know when they hit another car. Could this be the case here?

Maybe get a lawyer involved. They knew they hit you but didn't know there were cameras. Let it be one of those big life lessons for them.

My old 914 was nailed on all four fenders over many years. Different parts of town, always parked in safe spots, just some fool that can't drive, and I was never in the car. I never even got the note that says people thing I am leaving my phone number but screw you.

Just this summer my El Camino got lucky and some fool in what had to be a large pickup dent the hell out of my tailgate. The bumper took a lot of the hit, and has a small dent. I got to fix the tailgate on my own. It's only money!

Just yesterday some idiot clipped one of the toolboxes on my Unimog. The additive properties of the guy's dubassery are astounding:
  • it should have been obvious this was a car event, based on the cars and number of people standing around
  • he was trying to swing into a spot from the wrong direction, and mis-judged horribly
  • dumbass knew he hit the truck; he looked at it, shrugged, and walked off
  • he made no attempt to find out whose truck it was; I was standing one parking space away

There was no actual damage to my toolbox, but it put a nice crease and a fat scratch in his hood. Judging by how messed up the rest of his car was, this isn't the first time this has happened.

No oil leak so far, thanks Byron. State Farm is being squirrely on coverage. The driver isn't the insured. The insured is claiming the driver didn't have permission to drive the vehicle. I can't get an honest answer out of anyone.

My last experience with a police department was less than satisfactory in my favor. So I haven't called them as yet. The incident was on private property.

Unfortunately it seems that old Mopar minivans seem to have taken the crown from old full sized domestic cars as the human trash vehicle of choice.

Get the police involved. Leaving the scene of an accident even without injuries is a crime does not matter if it was in a parking lot or on a street. Even if they just issue a summons that works in your favor.

Oh, man. Some NC based immigrants who only spoke Spanish tried to pull that **** on me a few years ago when one of them destroyed my 1984 911 and almost killed me in the process. Their POS insurance company was Farm Bureau. The driver was not the owner AND his NC license was expired. I had to get a lawyer and it still took 2 years to recoup 1/2 the value of my car.

Good luck.

My PU truck got nailed by a drunken hit-and-run driver in DTLA and here is the best part: It happened 20' away from an occupied security booth and the guard only managed to get a partial license plate number!!

Nice lady but worthless as the tits on a bull. It was all captured on video as well but the license plate is not decipherable. It's an old truck and I only had liability+comprehensive on it, (with a sky-high limit, I want to be able to cover anyone else's property I damage). So I get to eat schit and pay for it.

And after:

Mike, does that work in NYC?

How do you hit a freakin' Unimog? Guess it is lucky he did not run over someone, and you did not take the 356 yesterday.

Try right-clicking and "open" with a different program or browser.

The default player might have to have that type of file associated with it under "options" or "preferences"...or else it just bumps the file over to something else which is incorrect.
Right click the file and use "properties" to find what kind of media file it is.

The phone may have saved it in some obscure format which needs to be converted.

The free VLC player seems to play everything, when even MSMediaPlayer and MSMovies&TV fail.

I was once in the back seat of a car pulling out of a parking line at the San Jose, CA Flea Market.
Some illegal kid in a family truckster squealed around the corner at 30mph and caved in the engine bay. Got spun 45deg and a few feet sideways.
No license. No insurance.
Police said "private property, call your insurance company".

Was the vehicle even his? He wasn't even concerned. Security let him take a child seat out and he walked away.
