Those tsi engines are trash. Very hot engines, but at the cost of reliability. 100 k mi disposable engine. But who cares when they sell them by the container ship.

I had a boost sensor fail on my Audi turbo around the same mileage. Dealer wanted $$$$!!!

Took it to an independent and he said it was part of the emissions system and mandatory coverage to 80k in California, 70k in other states. I would double check with the state laws

"Vehicles registered and normally operated in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, NewYork, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington" HTH. Give it a shot if she's in Penn.

Crazy. Id be pissed . I have no faith in new cars . They all have whoppers like this just waiting for you around every corner . Just too much wizardry everywhere .
Couldn't agree more, every time I think I need a new car, I read a thread like this and think 'I'm good will stick with what I've got'

I'll need to one day but I'm hanging on to the mid 90's era as long as I can

Sounds like an engine out job while factoring in Porsche rates, must be an Indy or VAG specialist that could cut that estimate in half or more
